As much as I love Protoss, Nautolans, Covenant, Necrons, Wookies, E.T. and even Draenei if they count. The Hooloovoo from Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy takes the cake for most awesome alien race ever. What is it? A super intelligent shade of blue. Technically he's not from a game, but he deserves a mention.

Agreed. The Hooloovoo is by far the most awesome alien ever, even considering the covenant, the Necrons, the Tyranids, the Krogan and the Turians (all of whom are awesome)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Draenei a civilisation from David Gemmell's Books? Even so, they are pretty sweet...

THe Hooloovoo helped design the improbability drive from the Heart of Gold, so yes, honourable mentions to the super intellegent shade of the colour blue.

I have a fondness for The Nali from Unreal, which was the first game to actually blow me away graphically, and have a truely disturbing opponent in the Skaarj, possibly owing that they brutalise the Nali.

in fact, thinking about the Nali makes me want to reinstal Unreal and go hang about with the first one you meet after leaving the ship, crack open a beer and have a chat with him.

i dont know many aliens in fps's so i would vasari (? did i spell it right ?) in Sins of the sloar empire just a cool race to play.... same goes for protoss in starcraft

Screw foreign diplomacy with Aliens. The only good Alien is a dead one, thats what videogame's have taught me.
