And probably the Fusion Suit from Metroid Fusion...

...That's not her armor...That's her skin.

OT: Skyrim's got a lot of good armors, one of which is the Ebony Mail that you get from the Boethiah daedric quest.

The Nordic armor you can get from Solstheim is pretty sexy, too. As well as the special Stahlrim light armor, Deathbrand.

Hate to nit pick but that chest piece is only ebony armour not mail. Mail has blue accents and no shoulder pieces.

The first thing that comes to mind is N7 Armor. I just love how it looks.

(couldn't find the ME2 version for whatever reason)

Can't really think of any real armors that I find really cool at the moment.
I was always slightly disappointed that they dropped the ME1 skin tight jumpsuit look. I would rather they kept it for lighter classes like engineers and adepts and have heavy classes like the soldier or vanguard wear stronger armor. Having adepts wear crazy movement restricting armor seemed weird to me as they are space wizards and everyone knows space wizards are more about freedom of movement than avoiding getting hit a lot rather than taking a beating. I mean look at how all the other biotics/tech experts in ME2/3 dress.

It's weird how no one really talks about how badass the Dwarven Amor from Skyrim is.

So... badass... :0
Yeah it's badass, apart from the flare-like leg sections. I just think of 80s fashion when I see them, and that's not a good thing. Other than that I agree, 'tis one of the best armours in the game. Especially dat helmet. I think Steel Plate is my favourite overall in vanilla Skyrim. Again, the helmet is wonderful.

As for fictional armour, The Witcher 2 had some really, really beautiful looking armour. When it comes to fantasy, I prefer armour that looks flashy and lovely, yet still grounded in reality (I fucking despise those typical bulky over-sized armours that are so common). So it's of no small wonder that some of my favourite fictional armour is stuff like this:

Awesome stuff.
Loving those - I've been contemplating buying The Witcher 2 for a while, this may have just sealed the deal.

The Elder Scrolls was always kind of a mixed bag for me.
They had some really goofy and/or generic-looking armors ("hey, remember the Imperial legionaries wearing equipment inspired by the real-life Roman legions? Well this time we gave the Blades Lorica Segmentata-style armor, so the actual Legion only gets generic ugly plate armor"), but also some brilliant ones.

For example, I really liked how creative they got with the Dark Elf armors in Morrowind, particularly the Indoril-armor worn by the Ordinators (an elite order of templars serving the local god-king).

In Skyrim, my favorite probably was the Ebony Armor.

For modern/sci-fi armors, I'm a big fan of the Ranger Armor/Riot Gear from Fallout: New Vegas, especially the improved variations introduced with the DLCs. I also liked the Advanced Power Armor from Fallout 2 (AKA the Remnants Power Armor from New Vegas).

Well, seeing as the Astartes armor is allowed, then I'll just go with my usual answer:

What? It's a suit of armour!.. Kind of.

For some reason my favorite Sci-Fi armor always has been the Starcraft space marine armor. Even since the days of SC1 it has appealed to me. In SC2 even more so.

For medieval/fantasy armor Id have to go with a good old templar/crusader armour. I just love the helmet for some reason.

I like the swishy, shiny, pretty stuff that elves are often depicted in.

I also like Brienne's from this little TV series by HBO called Game of Thrones:

I've always been a massive sucker for Warhammer 40000's Corvus armour. The armour's as awesome as ever, but it's that damn beakie helmet!

I've also always loved the Jedi General armour from Star Wars ever first seeing Obi-Wan wear it in the first Clone Wars miniseries, and I particularly like the version of it that appears in The Old Republic. It's that combination of the plate armour and cloak I think that makes it so badass - it has both that mystic monk element of the Jedi robe and the warrior element of the armour.

Finally, I do rather love the bonus armours you can get in the Assassin's Creed games, specifically the ones in the Ezio trilogy. I know they're mostly just intricately designed robes with some bits of armour stuck over it, but even so, they're impossibly cool. My favourite has to be the Armour of Brutus from Brotherhood - it has that badass Roman centurion style going on, plus the intricate chestplate all combined with the awesomeness of the regular assassin robes.

Speaking of Assassin's Creed, I can't believe this armour was cut out of III. It's just the most kickass thing.

Shardplate from the way of kings. it's s fantasy novle so no pictures and all the fan art I've seen fails to capture the majesty of it.
So rather then a picture here it is from the book:
"Shardplate wasn?t like ordinary armor; there was no mesh of steel mail and no leather straps at the joints. Shardplate seams were made of smaller plates, interlocking, overlapping, incredibly intricate, leaving no vulnerable gaps. There was very little rubbing or chafing; each piece fit together perfectly, as if it had been crafted specifically for Dalinar.?

I think real armors are cool, but anime and game armors are amazing in how they build off the real armours.
Casshern is also cool too

My favourite armour from fiction would have to be the Master Chiefs' Spartan armour from Halo:

Solid, strong, believable and just all around awesome.
Ultimate Ninja. Seriously, the Mark VI armor is the best of all.

Bonus points goes to the security armor from Dead Space
