Daft Punk's Around the World.
A pick among their many fantastic music videos. Also refer to their Story of the Secret Star System music videos which is from their album Discovery.
Gorilla'z Clint Eastwood.
Another pick among their equally awesome music videos. Since they're a virtual animated band most of their music vid's are animated with exceptions like Dirty Harry and Stylo.

Pearl Jam's Do the Evolution.
A rather deep (or direct you could say) music video reflecting our human history. With awesome music. And a reference to Megadeth.

Clever idea...also, she's a mainstream female celebrity who is sensibly dressed in a videoclip for once.

Garbage had alot of pretty good music videos, but I like this one:
because it is so much better than the actual movie the song was written for.

I've always found this to be really cool.
And I gotta give props to the band for learning the song backwards (like, literally reverse).
Obviously they used a regular recording, but I think they got the video to line up pretty well.
In any case, very cool to watch.

I recently got into the Beastie Boys and it further reinforces that they're fantastic musicians :)

Thanks for the video!

This is one of the best music videos I've ever seen, because of the inspiration (you'll know it when you see the video) and because the director is the band's frontman, also an actor (he was in Requiem for a Dream, and Nicholas Cage's brother in Lord of War), and a pretty good filmmaker on the whole:

This one is a favourite of mine because of the way it was filmed, and also because I'm a big fan of the band and the song. As a film-maker myself I can fully appreciate how tough this was to film, especially as Chris Martin actually spent some months before shooting learning how to sing the song backwards purely for the video, which then had the visuals reversed in post-production to give the illusion of time flowing backwards.

Finally, I like this one because it has such a simple idea, but one that's fairly tough to actually shoot. The band members had to rush around whenever they were out of shot to switch to the new instruments and carry on playing (obviously they wouldn't be playing when switching, so the timing had to be perfect - the sound was synched to the visuals in post-production). The effect overall is quite amazing. I love the song anyway, after getting into the band through the Scott Pilgrim movie, and it's made more awesome through this video.

Call me pretentious, but given my interest in film, and in music, a music video is only particularly really good to me if it has both good music and is unique or special, doing something challenging to film or something a little different, like these three do...
