Hold your horses, I know of http://www.co-optimus.com/ and that "recommend me co-op games" is a recurrent thread. I already came up with a list of games I'm interested in, I just want your opinion about them, specifically regarding whether they have good (couch/offline) co-op or not. I'm willing to buy a nominally mediocre game if the co-op makes up for it.

Borderlands 2 (already have 1 and I like it, does 2 do anything differently?)
Diablo III
Dragon's Crown
(personally I'm leaning towards this, I like shared screen co-op)
Far Cry 3 (actually the game looks attractive enough to get on its own, but I was wonderin about the tacked-on co-op)
Little Big Planet (looks fun, but is it fun?)
Portal 2 (I heard it's very brief and doesn't offer a lot of replay value?)
Resident Evil 6 (I played RE5 on co-op several times and liked it. I've heard a lot of shit about RE6 but nothing specifically co-op)

If you can think of any other good couch co-op games on the PS3 you're more than welcome to bring them up though I'm a little weary of FPS (which seem to be the most popular option).

Out of the ones you listed, I think you'd probably get the most replay value out of Borderlands 2 - it's more of the first game, but with a wider variety of guns, grenades and whatnot. Seems like a safe bet. The co-op of Portal 2 is basically a series of test chambers like the main game mode. I never completed it, so I don't know how much shorter it is than single-player mode.

Also, I think you got a bit of comma or something on your link there.

Do they throw in a new inventory system though, or do I have to keep throwing away my older guns every couple of raids? I hate small inventories.

FTFY.

I think you start off with two weapon slots and get a third when you get to the city of Sanctuary. There's a more detailed description here:

Inventory and such [http://majorslack.com/borderlands-2-walkthrough/inventory-screen/]

As for backpack storage, you start off with 12 slots and can increase it to 27. In Sanctuary, there is a bank for your character's items and Claptrap gives you a 4-slot locker for items you want to switch between characters. For the large raids, you do occassionally get a fountain of quite good loot, but the drop rate for Legendaries (which are even sweeter this time 'round) is very low. Speaking of items, there may also be this lovely fellow walking around Sanctuary any time you travel there (10% chance each time):

Tribute character [http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Michael_Mamaril]

I never really noticed myself running out of space a lot in the second game while I was doing co-op. We just shares weapon drops out based on how well we thought they would suit each class - although you get a lot more flexibility with using weapons this time around, since pretty much anything goes.

Dragon's Crown is obscene amounts of fun! Definitely recommend picking that up! Diablo III also comes wholly recommended. The loot is first come, first serve, though. You want an item, you'd best pick it up or hope that whomever does pick it up either doesn't need it, or will trade for it.

There's always Tales of Vesperia(JP only), Tales of Graces f or Tales of Xillia, though the co-op only really happens during battle. Not sure that's what you're looking for, but it's all I can recall off the top of my head, that you haven't listed.

Portal 2 co-op is about hours 4 hours long (it's been awhile since I played it so that number could be off) and I had a lot of fun with it since adding another player adds a different element to the puzzles. Depends on your partner too since my usual one, whom is fine with other games, was just about useless at Portal 2 and I had to find another.

Little Big Planet is fun but it depends on how much you like cutsey platformers. The most fun I had with it was some of the mini-games with a couple of other players.

Dynasty Warriors 8! That is, if you can appreciate the dumb fun that is DW. I have been playing it with a few friends of mine for the past couple weeks and it's been a fucking blast! All modes are local and online co-op.

Little Big Planet is pretty fun in co-op, if you're playing with the right person. It's not something you'd play with your Gears of War buddies. I've actually found it's a lot of fun to play with girls that have absolutely no interest in games. It's kiddy and silly and, though it's really not hard, it's tricky enough to have a laugh when your co-op partner screws up. Or you smack them into lava or off a cliff. Either way. Also, dressing up your characters can be hilarious.

It's not a game you'll be coming back to in your spare time, though. Hope this helps somewhat.

I've been a little biased towards Dynasty Warriors ever since I saw that one Unskippable though to be honest I have no idea what the gameplay is like, let alone what *kind* of game it is. It could be RTS for all I know.

You could always try Katamari Forever. Colourful, fun and insane. The co-op takes some getting used to and I'm not too sure about how big the co-op experience is, but it is good fun nonetheless.

Those are safe bets for co-op. And if you haven't co-op'd this one [http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/991066-lara-croft-and-the-guardian-of-light/images] yet, be sure to do so.

How did I not hear about this game before? Looks like everything I want in co-op. Full co-op campaign, offline, shared screen. And I love fixed perspective. Thanks!

Theres a couple good downloadable ones. Dragon's crown is probably a more robust version of both of these but Scott Pilgrim Vs The World and Castle Crashers are both really fun arcade style beat em ups with RPG elements.

As for the things you asked about which I've played:

Borderlands 2- Doesn't do a lot differently from 1 but refines it a lot. The story is a little bit more in the foreground (as in you won't completely miss it if you aren't paying attention like the first one) and the classes play better to certain roles, for example they gave the melee attack abilities to the character with stealth, the medic abilities to the character that surpresses enemies, etc. There's still multiple ways to build them but they're more coherent.

Far Cry 3- The tacked on coop is... not awful. It's kind of straightforward shooter coop but a lot of the levels have finicky left 4 dead style mini objectives like "hold out here, bring this object here while enemies respawn" things like that. Personally that annoys me but if it doesn't bother you then you might like it. It's hard as fuck though if you arent constantly coordinating with each other.

Little Big Planet- yes it is fun

Portal 2- It's a bit short. And it's a puzzle game, so after you know how to solve the puzzles I don't see much point in replaying it, but there's nothing technically stopping you

Dragon's Crown co-op is stellar. there's even some ways to compliment each others' choice of character. If you're worried about replay value, Dragon's Crown has a lot of content.

Diablo III was also great on consoles, though I didn't like the PC version. I've played local multiplayer in it and it's marginally chaotic but good fun. They added a roll so you can dodge too. It's better if you play with someone who doesn't hoard loot.

I'm definitely leaning towards Dragon's Crown. I'm a big fan of Vanillaware. Sadly this seems to be the pricier choice.

Really? I would've thought the PC version was better. If only because it's one of those clicky games.

On consoles it is reminiscent to games like Champions of Norath/Return to Arms or the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games (all four are PS2 games.) I'm not sure if you've played any of them, but they are fantastic fun.

My friend bought far cry 3 and did co-op, the co-op is very tacked on he says. I haven't touched it personally but from what I have glimpsed and been told, don't touch the co-op.

I'd recommend borderlands 2, it is like the first but it has an actual story ... remember in the first one how unless you read the flavor text the game was just "walk here pick up the glowy thing/shoot the glowy thing/kill the big thing"? This has a the bad guy talking to you, so while there is about a 1% increase in the number of cut scenes (there basically are none), most of the story actually takes place as you're doing the mission.

Handsome Jack is always in your ear muttering to you as you run around. Though to be honest, you will probably miss most of the story if you're playing couch co-op, as you will be talking to your buddy.

Portal 2 is ok but it's not very long and it doesn't feel as satisfying to complete a level when you have help.

I played Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II (solely on co-op, too, me and my partner keep joking to the day about the stupidly named "Jade Octahedron") and didn't really like it much. It seemed a tad too short and anticlimactic. Most missions were streamlined and solved themselves pretty quickly in one-shot locations, and grinding - which I like - never even came up as a thing. I was a big fan of Diablo II though, back in the day.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is one of the funnest co-op experiences I've ever had, you won't regret it!
