Not yet. They currently don't have the capabilities to project a large force overseas. They simply don't have the kind of ships that would be needed in such an operation.Though China might have a shot.
Bullsh**It shoots undetected nukes from its gatling gun. No one would know where it they would come from.
Cruise missiles have epic range nowadays. Even the V2 Hit london when fire from continental Europe, and that was in the 40's.KSarty said:Only to a certain extent. Nowadays the "coastal" regions extend several hundred miles inward, as does their population density. For example the western most areas of New York are well out of range of a traditional naval bombardment, and it is still as heavily populated as the majority of the east coast.Insanum said:true, but nowadays if a small armarda of warships managed too get past the US Navy, they could quite easily soften up targets in the coast. you dont have those liberty's in central regions.KSarty said:Not necessarily. The coastal regions have the densest population, so they would probably face the largest amount of resistance on the coasts.Insanum said:You could invade the more coastal areas but places like denver would become strongholds.
I'm not sure if you know this or not, but whenever a nuke gets launched all the players hear "Nuclear Launch Detected" in that oh so sexy voice. So unless you know some pretty uber hax, you're not getting away with nuking someone.oliveira8 said:Not with this you won't.Lazier Than Thou said:*snip*

And (thanks wiki) there are two newer classes of subs too...Artheval_Pe said:Not yet. They currently don't have the capabilities to project a large force overseas. They simply don't have the kind of ships that would be needed in such an operation.Though China might have a shot.
Let's not even start talking about what a bunch of Los-Angeles class Submarines would do to their fleet...
No you don't cause the robot shoots the nukes like it was bullets. So they never launched. Just fired.Lazier Than Thou said:I'm not sure if you know this or not, but whenever a nuke gets launched all the players hear "Nuclear Launch Detected" in that oh so sexy voice. Yes but there were only 3 Seawolf class subs ever build, and there aren't that many Virginia-class currently in operation if I remember well, so the Los Angeles are still the bulk of US submarine forces, aren't they ?And (thanks wiki) there are two newer classes of subs too...
*laughs*Nukes would be shot from the sky in a second
I'm not convinced the voice would recognize the difference.oliveira8 said:No you don't cause the robot shoots the nukes like it was bullets. So they never launched. Well..its explained that when someone launches a nuke, the radars catch it due to *insert techno babel here about nuclear launches*, the Robot literally stomps over that and just uses Nuclear bombs exactly the same way a Tank uses shells, so the radars cannot pick up the nuke cause *insert techno babel here about nuclear launches* does not happen. And yes its intercontinel and can pick up targets.Lazier Than Thou said:I'm not convinced the voice would recognize the difference.oliveira8 said:No you don't cause the robot shoots the nukes like it was bullets. I can't imagine that the voice would just shut up all of a sudden because the nuke is suddenly coming from a Metal Gear instead of a silo. Besides, I haven't played MGS4 yet, but I doubt they have cloak and even with that the voice still knows who's doing what.oliveira8 said:Well..its explained that when someone launches a nuke, the radars catch it due to *insert techno babel here about nuclear launches*, the Robot literally stomps over that and just uses Nuclear bombs exactly the same way a Tank uses shells, so the radars cannot pick up the nuke cause *insert techno babel here about nuclear launches* does not happen. The voice would never recognize cause it would never show up in the radar.
