Its already been covered, but it bears repeating.
A: SE is like the JP equivilent to EA or activision.
B: If SE wanted to remake FF7, they would. Look at the long storied history of SE rehashing their properties. Money isnt stopping them.
C: Its a good thing it ISNT being remade. Its the most over hyped entry in the series. With such SE KNOWS that there is absolutely no way they remake 7 without creating a fan calamity the likes that would make the "Retake" movement look like a group of 6 kids complaining on the internet.
It boggles my mind. Why do people think they want a 7 remake? Its the ones who are the most vocal about getting the remake who are going to be the most pissed when it sees the light of day and it does not meet up to ever single nostalgic expectation they had.
D: Kickstart is supposed to be for companies to which funding is a hurdle that can either make or break a project. SE has enough money to buy studios (Coughedioscoughcoughhackhackwheeze) and fund several subsidiary studios under their banner all working on respective projects at any give time. To have SE come in and try to use kickstart would be a gross perversion of the intention of Kickstart.
Which, I am not feeling a lot of love for kickstart right now being highly burnt out on these campaigns.

Has there been a game made by this kickstart begging trend yet?
I'm interested in seeing it.
Well I cannot speak for a full game. Most games being built from the ground up via kickstart will still have lengthy dev cycles greater than a year. I think some HAVE been released. I KNOW Cthulu Saves the world/Breath of Death7 got kickstarted for the PC version and it did sucessfully make it out the door with all the extra bells and whistles promised by Zeboyd. Buuut in that case the game was already essentially developed, and the only work was the port. So, Something DOES come out of it, still uncertain as to how much or how often it actually pans out.
Least its not like the Extra credits Indie fund that basically went nowhere and still has not shown any movement on its promises especially in light of another indie dev group who basically already did exactly what EC was proposing and it has already got at least 2 games out the door, (EDIT:
SPAZ QUBE & Dear Esther) and is a fully functioning entity.
Edit reason: Sorry, error on my part. Easy to get Acronymn named games mixed up.
