Could anyone care less about the Wii U at this point?

In all honesty, I'm actually more interested in the future for the 3DS than I am for the Wii U. The 2014 lineup for Wii U looks decent, but with all the game delays, and severe lack of 3rd party support, I sometimes forget the Wii U even exists. Nintendo has done almost nothing with the Gamepad so far despite some interesting concepts, The system is still lacking features the competition had for almost 7 years, and Nintendo isn't even making an effort to try and get actual 3rd party support like they are with the 3DS.

It's sad that a handheld has better 3rd party support and more features than a home console. Don't get me wrong, I still like the Wii U, but if Nintendo continues to not really care about it, and if they can't some heavy hitter stuff from 3rd parties next year, then the Wii U is just going to be yet another Nintendo output machine like the N64, GCN and to an extent the Wii. I think the 3DS will satisfy my Nintendo gaming for quite a while.

I'm a bit more interested in the games coming out for the Wii U this year, mainly the new Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and then Hyrule Warriors. After that, no not really because X hasn't even been mentioned in ages for updates besides that trailer at E3 so I consider it vaporware at the moment, Bayonetta 2 still hasn't been given a definitive release date yet, same is with Yoshi Yarn.
We keep getting promised these awesome games, but then they seem like they are no where to be seen for way too damn long, and it makes me feel like Nintendo doesn't care about the Wii U much at all really.

3DS on the other hand is getting a new Kirby game, a new Chibi Robo game, a new Shantae game, the 3DS is also getting Smash Bros itself, and a new Yoshi's Island game. And while none of them have an American release date yet, they still will hold my interest more because Nintendo has been good with releasing games on the 3DS in a timely manner, unless you live in Europe or Australia that is. XD

Meanwhile many of the games that really were wanted on the Wii U in 2013 were delayed many times, looking at you Pikmin 3, that I honestly don't even know if I can trust their estimated release dates to be honest. Now I like my Wii U, I really do, but Nintendo just honestly doesn't seem to care much about it at all really.

Nintendo is just too slow to adapt to change. They need to realize that they need to actually cater to the audience that are gamers. Not little kids who mostly just play games on iphones.

Didnt care about it for a long time but now it has got some decent games that interest me and 2014 looks like it could be a very good year for the console software wise I am certainly more interested in the titles coming out for the WiiU than the PS4 or Xbox One.

The gamepad is a gimmick but its a better one than the Kinect or PS eye and the Wiis waggle crap I wouldnt miss it if it were gone but I dont feel its presence hurts the console other than that they could have maybe just made a more powerful machine for the same cost if they had gotten rid of it.

The main reason I care about the WiiU is because of Bayonetta 2 and X which is basically why I got the system.

Indeed, I could care less about the Wii U, because it's getting games next year that I'm interested in playing. Granted, it relies upon games like X actually releasing, but still. It's caught my interest better than the Xbox One or PS4.

I do agree that the 3DS is in a much better position, but... well, the 3DS started out in a pretty poor position as well. Look where it is now. It may not have ever been as bad as the Wii U, but it was looking pretty dire for a Nintendo handheld for a while.

Well after looking at what expenses I have left I'm most certainly not going to afford a partial PC upgrade so I'm tossing that idea aside for a Wii U premium.

Most likely going to grab Zombi U, new Smash Bros,Zelda,Bayonetta and W101.

Nintendo just need to improve it's marketing but I'd say a Wii U is most definitely worth it.

I was right behind you when it came to looking forward to what the 3DS had up its sleeve in the coming months and whatnot. Yoshi's New Island and, Kirby 3D's look like they're going to be great and games like Mutant Mudds, Steamworld Dig, Phoenix Wright...they keep me interested in checking out the e-Shop on the 3DS.

Then Nintendo Direct 12-18 happened and I'm suddenly interested in the U again. Where the Hell did Hyrule Warriors come from and how can Nintendo (and presumably others) possibly follow that up!? We already knew that Bayonetta 2 and X-Something were coming but the degree of WTF that came with Hyrule Warriors has me really curious in the Wii U again and what could be next. Besides, we're in the release year of Smash For, DK:TF and, Mario Kart 8 now...also I just now got Wind Waker...and still have yet to play the U games that came out a couple months ago...

I could care less about the Wii U...it's the XBone and, Ouya that I couldn't care less about

I could care less if it didn't have Wind Waker HD.

Unfortunately I don't care any more without other titles that interest me.

Quite a dilemma.

So far, the Wii U is keeping me entertained, between Wind Waker HD, Rayman Legends (although thats not an exclusive), and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, I'm getting quite a bit of use out of it. And I look forward to games like Bayonetta 2 and the new Smash Bros.

Now if Nintendo just convinced more people to buy this system, things would be swell.

What they actually need to do is go back and try to cater to the audience they had with the wii. Nintendo has always catered towards kids and people who are dumb enough to buy the same system or handheld eight times which is why they have never had much in the ways of third party support. With the wii however the tapped into a brand new audience with tons of potential and then ignored them with the wii-u.

And which games that repeated themselves 8 times before the wii would be? Do you realize that people buy different consoles, and somebody who has a handheld (say the NDS) may want a game that was released for a different system, or a long, long time ago (in the case of the original Zelda games re-released for GBA)?

I know that I certainly have pretty much no interest in the WiiU at all. Out of all of the pieces of hardware out there, both handheld and not, it's the last one I'd even consider buying.

ah yes, this tiresome argument that was shown to be completely bunk ages ago. Listen here: games are toys, making family-friendly games is completely valid. Furthermore, how are kids any less of gamers than you or I? For crying out loud, have you not SEEN how freaking nuts Pokemon is? It seems to me if anything Nintendo needs to STOP trying to cater to "gamers" as they've proven to be shallow, fickle, and insecure. Better off trying to expand your horizons instead of catering to an ever-shrinking demographic that will drop your ass like a rock.

Anyway, the Wii U will be fine. It may not seem like anything is coming up, but we all know this song and dance: people whine about how Nintendo has nothing to release, then they drop a goddamned bombshell like Hyrule Warriors. Sure, 3rd parties are being dicks with Nintendo but that's nothing new. Doesn't help that 3rd parties in general are just boring me at of late.

I think the WiiU's darkest days have passed. The year long release drought is over, games, great games have come and many more are coming our way.

The first problem, that of there not being a reason to own the console has been solved. Its second problem, that of marketing is still pretty bad though.

The casual crowd that bought the Wii no longer exist, they have all moved to mobiles and tablets. STOP going after that crowd Nintendo! You have NOTHING to gain from it anymore. If the Wiiu wants to do well it needs to focus on gamers and commercials to draw in the casual crowd only sabotages that focus.

What happened is that the people who bought Wiis did so because it was a hot, trendy product that they played for a few hours before leaving it to collect dust. The crowd that bought the Wii in droves isn't interested in buying a new Wii. They already have a Wii that they aren't playing.

The Wii really wasn't the great success that Nintendo fans like to hold it up as. It sold well during the first half of the generation, but its sales fell off big time in the last few years, to the point where MS and Sony were quickly catching up. Their system also wasn't moving software, which is where the real money should be at that stage in the game.

MS and Sony's consoles were still going strong, selling systems and games. They only launched new consoles because their competitor was going to, and didn't want to be left behind. The Wii was completely played out, and wasn't making Nintendo money anymore.

My stance with the Wii U is the same I've had with previous Nintendo consoles: I won't get it unless there's a Zelda game worth the price of the console.

My family got an N64 back in the day, and then I later tried Ocarina of Time. I got a Gamecube because trailers for Wind Waker were out. I didn't get a Wii because Twilight Princess was already available on the Gamecube and Skyward Sword had no excuse to have a graphics downgrade. Currently, the only Zelda games lined up for the Wii U are a remake of Wind Waker (which I can still play on my Gamecube WITHOUT being blinded by all the light bloom) and a spin-off hack-and-slash (I don't have a problem with it being made; I'm just not interested). And given that I'm more careful about my money these days, the next Zelda action-adventure is going to have to look AMAZING to get me to buy a Wii U.

Right now, I'm actually more interested in getting a Wii U than either the PS4 or X1. Mainly because the games I see coming out for Wii U look to be actual games instead of cinematic experiences I'll play through once and have little to no interest ever touching again.

Well, Considering it's the only console I have right now (I traded in my ps3 to get it) I most definitely could care less. The wii u is a really fun console, especially for when you have a lot of people over. I haven't met a single person who didn't have fun playing Nintendo Land, or Game and Wario. And there are plenty of games coming up for the U that I'm interested in.
But then again, I am a self admitted Nintendo fanboy, so you are free to just roll your eyes, mutter "stupid NDF" and keep moving along
