You are not a beautiful and unique snoflake! You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else! We are all part of the same compost heap!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Well, she's part of that compost heap too, right?

Cant say I know ur situation, but if your love is legit and not just another case of the teen swoons then it will last, it will endure and it will find a (non-violent and non-agressive) means of being realized. Love dosent always click first go, it isnt always fully functional from the git go, it isnt without its stretch marks or its scars, but the same time, it never just fades away or disappears.

One thing i will tell ya, true love is when you can live with a girl for several years, unmarried, in the same house, and tolerate each other perfectly. Cant run before you walk; cant love before you befriend.

So I just found out that the girl I've been in love with my entire life does not return my feelings. Now I feel worse than I have ever before and could use some encouraging words
(thus the title of this post).

So got any?
Girl I've had feelings for for years has just started going out with one of my best friends. So I guess I can relate.

Considering you said "my entire life" and assuming you weren't greatly exaggerating, you're even a)reaaaallllllly creepy/un-confident or b)still in middle/high school. I'm going to assume the latter. In that case, don't worry about it, like, at all. You're still just a kid and you have a lot of years of love and heartbreak that will show you how wholly insignificant this situation is. Just do something to take your mind off the pain for awhile, which should really only last 2-3 weeks. I prescribe some Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann to make it feel all better. It's still streaming on Hulu.

I told the only guy i've ever truly loved so far how I felt recently and he didn't return my feelings & now we're in the friend zone, I felt better by: first of all cry all you like, it doesn't mean you're weak or anything like that so just cry until you don't want to anymore, secondly talk to friends about it, someone supportive who would believe you and who wouldn't judge or make fun of you, thirdly I wrote this really crazy angry poem about it, it sounds silly but it did make me feel better although it's probably not what most people want to do, I hope I helped even if just a little bit.

Well, there are, as others have pointed out, plenty of others out there.

Once you've sampled a few of them, that girl you've been in love with all your life won't seem so damn special.

Even if you're really picky (say, you only like one in 100 girls) and most girls don't like you (say, only one in 100) that still means one in every 10,000 is right for you. With roughly 3 billion on the planet, your odds no longer look so bad.

So go out and start meeting new girls! if you screw up, work out why and pick yourself up to start over.

If you lack the confidence or opportunity to do this right now, there's always porno, lifting weights and writing shitty poetry.

It will probably happen several times in your life, making this one instance seem somewhat "common". So don't worry too much.

Tell me, did you get caught in the "friendzone"? :p

Well I'd say it depends. It's not really healthy to go directly to another relationship from another without some "alonetime" in between.

After all, how do you know that you are even capable of being on your own if you go from one love interest to the next all the time? (not saying that you are, but some people do and it is true that these people have some serious issues in their confidence department because they just can't handle being on their own)

Lets have Nicolas Cage and Nicolas Cage tell a heartwarming lesson in the form of a story lifted from the movie "Adaptation":
I hope this comes across as encouraging...

That makes sense, but from what the OP said it sounded more like he had a crush then found out she didn't like him in that way... Which is what I've been going through for the past two years... nothing I try is helping me get over her...

Finding a girlfriend is like finding something you misplaced: stop looking, and you'll turn around to see it/her in plain sight.
No truer words! I met my current girlfriend after being dragged out by a mate when I just wanted to chill at home.

Just stop looking, stop obsessing and just plan to have fun. It'll happen when you least expect it!

Wow, that really sucks.. but you will find someone else. It might be a while but eventually those feelings will go away. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better either.

I'll also get behind this.

The universe has a funny logic when it comes to finding compatible romantic interests. It's when you're NOT looking for anyone that you'll stumble across someone. But when you are searching, you never find anyone.

It's bizzaro world in the real world. :S
