Unfortunately Yes, My survival instinct would definitely take over me and pull the trigger. However I would then try to track down the mastermind and shoot him. on his knees, In the back of the head with the same gun.

Unless the victim was a chav or a hobo, then I'd track down the mastermind and tell him I look forward to doing buisness with him in the future.

EDIT: However if he looked like an ok guy and my mind was not all over the place in panic I would ask him if he had any last requests and I would then do whatever it takes to fulfill them.

Well after a bit of thinking I would shot him. I doubt he would live even if I didn't shot him, so I'd rather at least have one person live (if the mastermind doesn't kill me anyway). Assuming a I'm let free, I'd try to find out all I can about the guy. Remember him and celebrate his life as a apology for killing him. Then I'd try to figure out who the mastermind is and bring him down. Make sure that no one else is hurt in such a way every again by him.

After this guy says this with a laugh i'd probably just shrug and say "Well, alright then." and shoot the guy.

However, if it was someone i knew i'm not entirely sure. It would depend on the person even then.

I honestly couldn't do that... I sat there just staring at the screen and I ended up just backing down... that was too much for me.

And early on in the game when talking to his wife, she took on a Hispanic accent for one line and then it was back to normal. It was bizarre.
