I just realized that it's been a while since I played a great RPG. I loved playing Final Fantasy 7 and 8, Kingdom Hearts, and Golden Sun. I miss having that kind of fun with an RPG. Do you have any recommendations for me? I have a Wii, an ok PC, a PSP, a DS, and a PS2. Thank you!

EDIT: I do have a GCN as well.

Get Okage: Shadow King for the PS2. It is a brilliant game. Give it a try.

I'm sure I'll get arguments as to whether or not some of these are RPGs, but: shadow of the colossus, the fallout series (seems to be getting popular)...

Fallout is definitely an rpg. SoC would fall in line with the Zelda games as action adventure...but that's not to say RPG fans should not play it.

Might want to give Sonic Chronicles for the DS a try. I'm playing it now, and it's pretty fun.

Play KH2.
I don't like that kind of game, but it kept me going til about an hour till the end.
Then my PS2 got "borrowed" like cars get "borrowed" in GTA.

Mother 3. If you've played Earthbound, you'll love Mother 3. Unfortunately, (thanks Nintendo) it's only available as a ROM, which you need a patch to translate. Because Nintendo didn't release it outside Japan. But still, get it, play it, love it.

What sort of RPG? There are a few different kinds, and I've got solid recommendations for each.

JRPG? I'm a fan of the old school and think that Final Fantasy VI hasn't ever been topped. FF4, Dragon Quest 4, and the upcoming re-release of Chrono Trigger will do you good, and plugging FF6 Advance into your DS is well worth it.

Western RPG? Two words: Elder Scrolls. Whether it's Morrowind, Oblivion, or an abandonware copy of Daggerfall and DOSBox, it's my favorite WRPG series. If you have a deep, abiding love of mods, user-created content, and you can look past the lamer-than-lame campaign that came in the box, Neverwinter Nights might be more your speed.

Strategy RPG? Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Disgaea. Those three names are as much as you need to know. Nippon Ichi's other offerings (like Phantom Brave and La Pucelle: Tactics on the PS2) are a good place to go from there, although you'll probably have to fork over a king's ransom on eBay.

Seems like you've played a whole bunch of JRPGs, but if you're looking to break into the world of Western RPGs, then Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic may be a good choice. It's not terribly difficult, the storyline is absolutely phenomenal, and your older PC should be able to handle it just fine. It's a game I'd recommend to just about anyone.

NWN for the WIN. Playing it for 6 years. What the public can do with .hak files and scripting is amazing, the gameplay online is pretty much 100% different from the vanilla singleplayer. NWN is the game for people who like to make and play their own fantasy rpg's.

Ok I'm a huge RPG fan so I can recommend a few titles but keep in mind that I absolutely hated playing FF8 and Golden Sun, and the idea behind KH made me want to hang myself, so our tastes might be too different. Here's my top pics from a few of your systems:

PS2: Persona 3 FES, Rogue Galaxy, Xenosaga 1-3, Disgaea (if you like strategy rpg's) and Chrono Cross (PSOne but playable on the PS2 thanks to backwards compatibility. Yes it's THAT good that it's worth digging up)

PC: Knights of the Old Republic, Planescape Torment, Septerra Core all of which are fairly old so any ghetto PC should handle them easily

PSP: FF Crisis Core, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lion, Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness, or Jeanne D'arc (again, assuming you like SRPG's) (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Parasite Eve: The Third Birthday gets ported outside Japan)

i got a game called fallout 3 that good but i dont know if there are any other game that are even better then that. I mean its a good game but a little too long the is a nuked place, that is all of D.C. and all thats around that. Then it gets harder after a time of playing but then what game dose not do that. So i just say its a fair game not the best but ok
