I'll recommend Earthbound and MOTHER 3 as soon as the people at Nintendo get their collective heads out of their asses.

Untill then, you should just follow the suggestions that everyone else has made.

The fan translation of Mother 3 is complete. I have played it, finished it, loved it, and am in the process of replaying it.

Yeah, I know. I'm at the end of the seventh chapter in the translation and I'm enjoying it all the way. I just don't want to suggest something illegal.

Nintendo forfeited the right to complain about westerners pirating Mother 3 when they did not release it outside Japan, put Lucas in Brawl and released the Mother 3 soundtrack on iTunes.
