the LA police? (ha-ha)

If my job were to be made into a game, I would be rich because people just bought a blank CD from me

If I were in the Middle East or maybe South Korea or something my job would make a good game... it made a good movie, Full Metal Jacket... and Good Morning, Vietnam as well...

But currently I'm on a tiny island where nothing happens and I have nothing to report, so the game "Military Journalists: The Real Story" about how the majority of us don't do anything from day to day wouldn't be too great...

Designing the weekly ad for a grocery store would be a pretty boring game unless you like groceries a whole lot, and lets face it, who doesn't?

They already made a game based on my job.

It's called Mass Effect.

Nah, just kidding. I work at a retail household goods store (Linens N' Things, for those that have heard of it). I've actually thought of what a game based on it would be like (I get REALLY bored there sometimes), and I've imagined it as sort of a genre mash-up:

- platforming segments where you're climbing on the shelves on the sales floor or the stockroom trying to find a particular item or items

- stealth segments where you try to avoid the notice of annoying customers who want your help and the asshole manager that'll make you actually work

- vehicle segments where you have to make it to a fast food place and back in time during your lunch break

That's all I've been able to think of. I dunno if it'd make a great game or not, but it'd be ok as freeware or something.

I'm in school so I don't see anyone making a game outta that....
Unless I go to Japan, cause I'm sure there are plenty of X-rated school games...
But my school experiences are NOT like that...
Yet...

Anyways, still gotta pay for dem books, so I work at.... sigh.... Walmart... You may weep for me now.

I think it would make a pretty good RPG though.

*Wolfwind walks down the aisle.... RANDOM BATTLE*
-Wolfwind is attacked by "Angry Customer"

Customer: I've been waiting for service for an hour!

Wolfwind: *uses magic "common sense"* B-But we just opened....

*common sense is inaffective against Angry Customer*

Customer: I want the microwave that's in the flyer, but you're all out. Go find one for me!

Wolfwind: Sure... I'll uh... go check the back.... *presses the shoulder buttons and escapes*

*Open Equipment Menu*
-Wolfwind removes item "Blue Vest". Gains +10 Dignity.

No job and soon to be homeless seems like the opening to some RPG, but no I doubt anyone would buy my life, the game.

I build custom PCs. I also upgrade and repair existing PCs. You could make a puzzle game in which you had to pick the right parts and build a PC then install the right software and basicly make everything work together like it should. If you could get a stable system built under the time limit you'd win. You'd get bonuses for actually getting the PC to do what the customer wants it to do. You'd have problems to solve like having the PC malfunction and having to figure out what part or software program is causing the problem. My job is pretty much a real-life puzzle game so it could work.

See, I get the kids when they're 13-17 years old.

At the risk of sounding like a pervert, the game would involve the 'keep everyone happy by remembering many annoying details' elements of Japanese relationship sims, although I suppose the aim of the game would be to get all the kids to piss off and get higher paying jobs than you and not bother you anymore.
(Pick the bitter one who's spent all Sunday in at work marking and writing reports, not that many of my kids are at risk of being employable or self-sufficient for the time being).

Some days it'd just be a whack-a-mole clone though. I'd have said an FPS but there are enough mental-cases trying to turn schools into that anyway.

Well if they made a game about an intern making his way up (Trauma Center) then maybe they can make one about a nurse, however, I don't think it would ever be worth playing, considering I wouldn't play any type of game that comes remotely close to work (just seems to ... defeat purpose.. >.<)

Hmm I haven't heard of game where by night you are delivering pizza, tolerating indecisive phone orders, and doing all kinds of work in a kitchen except making the food.
But by day your a 20-something business student making the greenies/anarchist/socialist/communist/christian students cry on campus, and sitting through the eternal lectures and making jocks kill themselves via "thinking" induced brain haemorraging.

Well if you are the real C.H. then your job would make a brilliant game. Just don't get your own hands dirty again bad things happen.

Enginering intern the game...

Yes i can see it no you have to brawl with other interns to use the copy machine. High intensity enviromental interaction, you grab the stappler and us it on some ones eyes, stick the hand in the paper shredder.

or maybe you could hide some ones insulin and kill them off to advance until you take over the firm

so yeah i guess you could make a game out of my job (and yes its a job no a carrier, i didnt get a degree to be a glorified secraty)

I work for Gamestop, so I guess my game would consist of me trying to sell people subscriptions of Game Informer and convincing them to reserve games.

My job could easily become a FPS or a hack and slash. Mostl likely a FPS as i already own a gun. The difficulty ladder would be steep tho as after finishing the first level i'd have to go up against lawenforcement agencies. Since it's a game and not reality you'd probably be able to fight your way trough all way up to the army. In any case you couldn't win, just loose in different ways...

I get paid $11.30 an hour to sit around and do literally nothing. Right now, I'm technically getting paid just typing on these forums. I guess if my current summer job was transformed into a video game, it would be like that "World of World of Warcraft" video on YouTube, except with fun things like chatting on forums and making social contact with people around the world, instead of playing a joke of a video game.
What on Earth do you work as?

I'm a barista, so I guess that could be turned into a game. The game is you have a gun under the machine, but you can't shoot customers. If you do, you lose.

It would be the hardest game of ALL TIME.
