Obviously not me writing the article, but I wanted to know what the Escapist thought about it.

Yeah, I would've never expected such a Spanish Inquisition.

This happens to me every time I read a Cracked article by the guy.

OT: I normally love reading John Cheese's articles but this one I found myself subconsciously face-palming at. Dude just sounds kinda whiny. The only one he might have a point about is the whole

thing. That might be an issue. Might.

But really, most of my dismissal of this article could just be that around E3 tends to be when I'm at my most Nintendo-fanboy-ish. So take my opinion for what it's worth.

Cracked is a comedy website guys. Don't get your panties in a knot when they trash something you like.

Nintendo haven't lost it at all, they're just aiming for the casual audience as with the last generation. My grandparents and aunts don't care about any of the complaints listed there, because they just want a system that is intuitive to use, that has a few good core games. This is a good thing as it's introducing games to a completely new audience.

John Cheese should stick to his "5 reasons why my life was shit before I got this job at Cracked, but now I'm better than you and know it" articles, and stop trying to pretend to be a video game reporter.

who is john cheese and why is his opinion noteworthy?
He is a writer for cracked.

Most of his articles are "5 ways I fucked up my life" or "5 ways alcoholism fucks you up" or "5 ways my divorce ruined me" etc etc

So yeah, most of them are just him writing about how shit his life is for shits and giggles.
Except that if you actually read the articles instead of skipping down to the comments to whine about Cheese, most of his articles are about how his life is pretty good. Let's see, the guy turned his life away from alcoholism, is raising several kids, recently married a woman he loves and has a job he really enjoys. It's the same as happens with Gladstone, Christina, and so forth; people don't bother reading the articles because they've already decided what to think about what they're going to read, so they skip straight to the flaming. That said, it is Cracked.com, whose major export is people who apparently hate their stuff but keep reading every single fucking article just to *****.

That said, I don't think he's the funniest guy there and often (apart from the captions) his articles don't make me laugh, but I'm pretty tired of the "OMG another whiny article by John Cheese LOLZ this guy is such a ***** LOLZ" comments.

1. Cracked is a comedy site. It is not designed with news or serious commentary in mind.

2. John Cheese is a writer for said comedy site. Not that his articles are usually that funny, but never mind. He's entitled to his opinion of course (and to exaggerate it for the purposes of his comedy article), but that's all it is.

So, wait, you're saying that DOB's "My time as a trapped Chilean miner" wasn't accurate reporting?!

Of course, what I meant was "it's not designed with news serious commentary in mind, with a few notable exceptions" Personally, I found that particular report very moving :p
