Crappy weapons that you use anyway

Just something random I thought up that might be fun.

What are some really awful weapons in games that you choose to make use of just for fun, or some other reason aside from functionality?

Personally, I've been having a lot of fun with the regular pistol in Half Life 2. It's not really one of those guns that so bad you could call it a joke weapon, but it's outclassed in every way by every other gun that you find, so once you get to the point at which ammo for your primary weapons is no longer a concern, you just don't need it anymore. I've been pulling this gun out of the bag mostly because I just remodeled it to make it look and sound like a real gun rather than a pop gun. If I really wanted to, I could edit the scripts to make it better, but I just can't be bothered.

Another one that I don't actually use (but I still mess around with quite a bit) is the .32 Pistol from Fallout 3. It's a top-break revolver, and that alone makes it semi-cool, but it's so awful that I've never actually used it in combat. I just shoot once or twice so I can reload and watch the animation. If only they'd made the .44 Magnum a top-break. I'd use it exclusively if they did.

I've always been a fan of the Needler from Halo. Then they made it powerful, so everyone uses it once in a while. Way to steal my phunder, guys.

Frying Pan in Dead Rising. Heat that thing up and its life may be crap, but burning a zombie's face into bacon for 30 PP never gets old.

I like pistols, just because I can show off with them.

Link's Bug-Catching Net in Soul Calibur II. All the joke weapons were pretty fun, but Link's puny wooden bug catcher takes the cake. Winning with it really takes some skill, too; beating your Soul Edge wielding buddy while using the Bug Net is pretty much comparable to winning with an arm tied behind your back.

Hammer Bros suit in SMB3. That thing was the ultimate piece of crap, but man, it was cool to use to see what it's like to be a hammer bro..
I also liked the Magnum in the first Halo game before they turned it to crap.

I love the Chinese Pistol(mauser c96 imitation) from Fallout3.

Horrible damage but I love the model, so I edited it a bit in the GECK.(made it slightly stronger than the normal handgun)

EDIT: I guess the mod stopped the weapon from being "crappy" but I used it before the GECK was released.

I couldn't help but lol at the first part of your post. Hard. Trying to be tough by putting others down over the internet won't get you anywhere.

It's probably because I haven't played Super Mario 3 since I was a kid (and I sucked. Bad.), but I remember always dying the moment I got that suit. (Tanooki suit ftw) I definitely need to replay it.

Pistol-whipping someone to death in Halo holds an odd satisfaction for me. It does the least melee damage, so pulling it off is glorious.

Wild Bill's Sidearm in Fallout 3. Kinda like the .32, but not as bad.
I also like using the Ripper, even though the Shishkebab is so much better. It's so...gruesome.

Hmm, I use the chinese officer sword in Fallout 3 but I thought it was relatively good, not shitty. For my joke weapons, I enjoy killing things with the flowers you can wield in Runescape. thats, right, Runescape. They make all your stats -99 that concern combat and makes it so a chicken can pretty much kill you.

The Klobb from GoldenEye 64. It was a complete piece of crap but double that thing up and you might be able to kill someone with it.
