I use the hunting rifle in Fallout 3.

And the hidden blade in combat in Assassin's Creed.

I'm nuts.
I actually use the Ol' Painless hunting rifle a lot in F3
Yeah, but the difference between us is that I'm an idiot.

I use a regular.

Fun in fights.

The BFG10000.

With quad damage.
LOL!
9000 will always be the real BFG, take your new-fangled toys out of my nostalgic sight!

My fave underpowered weapon = Karate Chop in Goldeneye, the sound effects generated in a slapfight are obscenely hilarious!

Oh, SMG in L4D. That thing may be a terrible gun, but it's just so fun to run around blasting holes in the face of zombies. Granted you'll die and make your group mad, but still...

EDIT: Also the Dominion rod or whatever it's called in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Sure it does nothing, but I still try to hit goblins with it all the time.

The axe in Fallout after you get Point Lookout, it wasn't very good, but was just fun to use

I make a point to use every weapon I have available. Sure I could blaze my way through Duke Nukem 3D with just the Devestator...but it's a lot more fun taking on the Cycloid Emperor with 48 pistol rounds and whatever weapons you can grab off the field!

Oh, and I can never be sure which game it's supposed to be that the Needler is powerful in, but I'll stand by my favorite hail of pink, glowy death to the very end.

The regular handgun in all GTA games. I don't know why... Possibly something to do with the noise.

I also liked the Luger pistol in the Call of Duty series. It's so much cooler to fire than the Colt because of how detailed the weapon model was. They're both just the same in uselessness, but the design is so much cooler (and the iron sight doesn't suck as bad).

Do I honestly have to point out your avatar?

OT: I heart the Rock-It Launcher. It's not crap attack wise, just it has an inefficient ammo system. BUT YOU CAN KILL PEOPLE WITH TEH TEDDYZ!!1ZOMG!

A car/truck in crackdown.

"STEP OUT OF THE VE-HI-CUL"
"no."

*Throws the car off a building...into another car....that's on a pile of cars....covered with remote mines...presses detonator.*

I would go mad with power, never give me the guy from crackdown's abilities.

I think that's his point.

Another thing I forgot to mention is the generic bolt-action rifle in CoD:WaW's Nazi Zombies mode. I've found that the Kar98k/Arisaka (I'd include the Springfield too, but that one is so terrible that even I don't use it) are very alright for the first few rounds, especially for getting accurate headshots at long range. However, most people just use their pistols until they can afford the semi-automatic rifle off the wall. I do that sometimes, but I will usually buy the bolt-action right away for some quick kills.

The pistol in Mass Effect (for the achievement) and the Chinese Officer Sword in Fallout 3.
I use both of those and I have to say that neither of them are weak in my opinion. Levelled up enough, pistols become devestatingly good weapons in Mass Effect: good accuracy and rate of fire, and reasonable damage: they're especially useful on the soldier and vanguard for long range accuracy early game.

I also really like the Chinese Officer's Sword: it's lightweight, attacks quickly and does reasonable damage: I generally use it against weaker enemies such as molerats and dogs in order to save ammo (and my melee weapons skill is very low)

The TMP, Mac 10 and scout in counter strike are very underrated but deadly in the right hands. Killing with those is very satisfying. I was accused of aimboting as I was getting headshots with the scout, (A sniper rifle) as "The scout Sucks you cant get headshots with that!"

The Klobb from GoldenEye 64. It was a complete piece of crap but double that thing up and you might be able to kill someone with it.
Yes "might"
