Following your dreams is like taking side streets. It takes longer to get to your destination, but the scenery is always nicer.

A fellow human being is not unlike a fire: avoiding them will leave you in the cold, but getting too close will almost always result in burns.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Although I guess a thread about people quoting themselves is bound to attract the more pretentious of us.

"They say we only use 10% of our minds. This is not true. The 10% is simply what we are consciously aware of, everything else is devoted to your subconscious. You can catch a glimpse of the other 90% in your dreams. It's that part of you which governs your personality, preferences, and decides which side of a fight you stand on. In short, everything that makes you you, goes on beneath the surface. You might catch a glimpse of it in your dreams, but if you can learn to truly know yourself, and to harness all those swirling thoughts beneath the surface and focus them, you can make those dreams into reality."
These are the kinds of quotes where I honestly just want to reply with "Source?"
Not sure about the whole Subconcious/concious part of brain but I do know that 10% of our brain fact is complete shit.

The media should be the eyes and ears of the people, not the voice of the politicians.

"Hope is the greatest obstruction to happyness mankind has ever known. Hope keeps saying that you can have more, and when you do not get more you are miserable. Abandon hope and find contentment with what you have."

"All the human race has ever done is destroy or manipulate, only women have every been able to create. For all our faults that is our redemption and for that all women should stand proud"

What you think, should I mail it in as the new feminist slogan or should I stay with choice A.

"Iron me a sandwich,biatch!" :p

Oh another...
"If you can't seem to find the light, learn to see in the dark"

"The fact that we survived long enough to reach sentience proves divine intervention/creation."

I explain it as: before we had discovered that rock is sharp and can be used as weapons, and before we had fire, how could we survive against wolves, bears and other predators that are still great dangers in our modern society? We have next to no chance against many creatures now, so how did we survive then?

I'll go ahead and borrow this one: "When it doubt, C4."

And then more or less my own, "Friends aren't the ones you love the most, they're the ones you hate the least." ...What? I thought it was funny.

"Anybody who claims to have lost faith in humanity believes themselves to be more than human."

But my favorite non-me quote:
"What is done in the dark will be brought to the light."

"I'd rather have nothing and keep most of it in life, than have everything and keep it until the one day i die and it will indefinatley disappear".

I go by this quote for life, not created by me but it inspired me when I was told it by a Homeless man with the biggest smile on his face.
