Ever been online and creepy shit happens like someone you don't know saying your real name?

This happened to be in WoW one day. I made a new undead and I was maybe lvl 3 and the zone was barren except for one other player. I see him running towards me so I wait and he comes up and goes "Logan?" This freaked me out so bad because this was on a new server and HOW THE HELL WOULD HE KNOW MY NAME?! Coincidence? I think not.

And the other day I was playing League of Legends with 3 other friends when this guy on the other team calls us out on being a premade. We're like wat how would you know and he said he looked us up in the like 5 minutes it takes to load a game and saw all our match history and how it was all the same. So yeah while not creepy it was just weird how this guy actually researched us just to call us out on being a premade.

tl;dr What are your creepy experiences online?

No, for some reason all my creepy experiences tend to happen to me in real life. Which is really annoying as I like to wind people up and it is much safer to do it online where the person can't decide to murder you.

Though someone did try to scam me last week. That was annoying too.

Can't tell if serious or being sarcastic about the fact that you can see my live account, name and state here on my profile.

If it's the latter then my point is in WoW you cannot know someones name nor would these people have access to my escapist account so hence the creepiness. If you're being serious somebody must be using my account cause I haven't played Halo or Live for that matter in months haha.

Well, I go by the name Pinkamena on steam too. While in a steam group chat, some guy kept nagging me about joining him a private chat room so we could play some naughty RP. I guess he just really liked ponies.

Oh lordy no.

Most of my disturbing internet experiences involve cracked. It's like QI teaches you interesting stuff, and cracked teaches stuff you just wish you could unlearn.

Then there was that japanese horror comic.

Y'know, the one with the neck cracking scene. WITH AUDIO.

First time someone masked a link to the generic user page (i.e your page) with the words "this guy" creeped the shit out of me. He was talking all kinds of vile shit and then said "this guy knows what I'm talking about".

I didn't realise what he was doing at the time (this is like, 8 years ago, give or take), and was mortified with the association.

Think this may have been my first time being trolled too.

Other then that, the only creepy shit I've experienced is the creepy fuckers who randomly spout creepy shit in various locations on the... creepy web?

I once joined a TF2 server with a player that sounded like he was having sex with, someone, while playing TF2. Yes you read correctly. It got weirder when it turned out that all of the players on the server with a mic were doing this. It was worse since I was not using headphones at that time and my parents were at home.

Brain bleach wasn't enough that night...

One of the more surreal things I've done on the internet was read the Curse of Tails Doll

Me: "I remember Sonic R when I was a kid! Glitchtastic, but it was still fun!"

CoTD: "Step One: Play as Tails Doll against Mecha Robotnik, Metal Sonic, Metal Knuckles and Super Sonic." (these are the "top tier" opponents, used all the time)

Me: "Heh, I did that all the time. I kicked all kinds of ass with Tails Doll!"

CoTD: "Step Two: When you race, have "Can You Feel The Sunshine" playing."

Me: "Well, Tails Doll WAS glitched so that that was the only song that ever played when racing... as him..."

CoTD: "Step Three: After the race, the game should crash."

Me: "The game did this every three races or so..."

CoTD: "Step Four: Go directly to bed."

Me: "I... only played... after supper..."

CoTD: "You will have a horrible dream of Tails Doll."

Me: "Oh Lawd. One of the worst dreams I ever had involved all the Sonic characters... including Tails Doll..."

CoTD: "Tails Doll will now kill you in your sleep."

Me: "..."

Still waiting on that last step over a decade later, but mein GOTT, that was creepy towards the end. It outlined stuff I did perfectly.

Whenever someone you just met in an online game tries to get all personal on you. Especially when they won't stop sending messages and keep asking you to call them "David". There's a boundary between adding someone you didn't hate playing with to your friends list and then there's plain creepy. Learnt the hard way never to give out your real name in a game. Nearly ruined WoW for me back when I played cause my guild leader kept calling me by it.

Was playing Halo 3 once, I think I was around 13 when this happened, and some guy was getting blown with his mic on. Games are totally art, guys.

Here's one that everyone is encouraged to copy! I like to call it Omegle Limbo: when prompted with the dreaded 'asl', respond with something like 14 f us, 13 f us, etc (changing the country if you want to of course). The point of the game is to see how young you can get and still have people hit on you to a horrifying degree! For added fun, make sure to add in your fetish of choice under the 'common interests' section. Of course saying you're an 11 f into bondage may be a bit easy to see through but you never know.

Here's my record!

On a straight-up chat with strangers (no common interests) I was hit on/encouraged to cyber/etc as a 12-f-US

On a chat wherein my interest was 'bondage' I was hit on etc-etc-etc I was a 13-f-US

Feel free to play Omegle Limbo and please feel free to share your results!

Ya know what else is disturbing though? Clicking on my hockey mask badge.

That isn't creepy at all. I'm sure it was just a guess.
No one knows who you are, Logan. No need to be paranoid.
No one is watching you. Just calm down, and try not to think so hard. It could get you into trouble...

In regards to the League of Legends guy, he probably saw all 4 of you hit queue at the same time. That's a mighty good indication it's a premade.

In regards to World of Warcraft, if your battle.net account has your real name on it, people can see your real name in game. He probably ghosted a friend request, got the name and decided to mess with you.

On topic: nothing creepy online. Was dating a girl and she decided to blog about everything and put my address in it. One of her psycho guy friends got the brilliant idea to Facebook stalk me and when I called him on his bullshit (public blog... Idiot) he passively threatened me. *shrug*

I guess it would have to be the time on my MMO when I was just standing around at a bank and this dude just started hitting on me. Which struck me as kind of odd seeing as my avatar is male. This happened probably close to... five years ago and to this day on my MMO I never go to that bank ever, even if it's the most convenient bank in the area.

Some guys were trolling me on killing floor (which didn't bother me as I came in half way through the round and finished on top of the leader board :D) and on a whim after the match googled his screen name and found my way onto his facebook page which gave his home address. It kinda freaked me out that it was that easy.

Yeah but this happened in vanilla WoW before they wanted our name plastered all over our account. That's why it's creepy hah

Creepiest shit that i ever found online has to be the forum for people who want ÁIDS
Or the seemingly serious advertisement for trained amputee sex slaves
