I never liked Starcraft 1 or 2.

It's a personal preference but it was too fast, too competitive and the theme didn't appeal to me.

- All of Final Fantasy, because combat systems are beyond atrocious and the characterization is non-existent.
- Halo, Perfect Dark, Golden Eye, because console FPSs suck, with absolutely no exceptions.
- All of Call of Duty and Battlefield, because all FPSs where you can't rocket jump suck.

Yes, I am full of hatred for those.

mediocre OST, a battle system...
Woah woah woah woah woah...

I don't think I have ever heard someone knock FF7 OST I thought everyone was in agreement that it was possibly the strongest point of the game? There are many flaws to FF7 but the OST is NOT one of them IMO. I would like to know why you don't like the soundtrack? I am genuinely curious.
The strongest link in a weak chain is still weak I guess...

You can have a GREAT OST but if the songs don't 'fit' or sound 'off' for story/situation points it detracts from theme.

Don't get me wrong, the fan-made/official remixes and songs by The Black Mages really make some of FF7's songs shine...

But, in game?
Eh, I didn't feel it.

Halo Reach was bad
I enjoyed the other three Halo games and thought ODST was okay but Reach I did not enjoy
All my friends thought I was insane

Dragon Age 2

It took everything I loved about the first game and destroyed it. I loved the faster gameplay and the graphical improvements, I hated the fact that most of the quests were uninteresting, repetitive, and pointless. Also the entire dialogue tree system was stupid and didn't actually give the player real choice. Your choice was either be nice, neutral, or a ***** with all three choices just slightly altering the dialogue. Also having no impending doom like the Blight made the story feel directionless and uninteresting. I hope this isn't the direction Mass Effect 3 will be going.

Call of Duty. It's Grey and realitic. To me it's boring.
I'll play it if there's nothing better to play but I'd never spend money on it.
This also applies to the Battlefield series.

Final Fantasy.
I'm not into them. Never been into the whole turn based combat thing to an incredible degree. Played Pokemon, that's about it. As time goes on Final Fantasy wants less and less to do with the player. The most recent one had a auto-battle feature. That is plain ridiculous for a game. It might as well have an auto win button. You might as well just watch the cutscenes online and just not buy the game.

You get to it just in the nick of time and the guys who tricked you into gathering the key to opening it are just opening it to reveal a monster that has been trapped inside to guard the treasure. After you kill it the time to get into the vault has passed and it can't be opened in your lifetime. So basically everything you were supposed to look forward to just crumbles between your fingers and it all seems like a waste.
Actually, the vault was never a treasure, it was a prison built to contain the destroyer. There was never any treasure in the first place and by killing it, you save pandora, as the monster inside was the reason it was dying.

OT:

I can't bring myself to finish system shock two. I just can't, its fucking terrible. I've seen some guy runthrough it and it wasn't any different to how I was playing it, so it must just be the game. I preferred Bioshock.

*trying to hold in anger from reading other posts*

but anyways, i hate all the assassin's creed games. I think it was the first one that ruined the rest of them for me.

The entire Halo series confuses me, it just seems so bland.
Oblivion bored the crap out of me.
All critically acclaimed sports/racing games bore me to tears (with the exception of Madden).
Uncharted games were just a collective meh.
All MMO games bother me, I can't deal with repetitive grind. Just not for me.
I highly enjoyed Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops, but I hated all other CoD games.

Yeah, that's all I can think of so far.

any game by bethesda.
should i flee the country now? seriously i dont understand how you can like these games. morrowind was pretty good actually but was that made by bethesda? i dont even know. but oblivion, fallout 3 and new vegas were so bad, so very bad.
Wait wait; let me get this right...

You didn't like Oblivion, but liked Morrowind...? I love me some Morrowind, don't get me wrong, but that game was nearly unplayable without massive modding done towards it. Combat, immersion, quests - you name it - were all pretty shit. And however Oblivion didn't improve by the bucket loads, it did allow me to really get into my character. But seriously, if you didn't like Oblivion I can't think of a reason how you would start to like Morrowind. Morrowind is really an acquired taste aggregated through the tolerance of pure shit.

Oh, and Morrowind has got to be the worst aged game EVER.
But eh, as an Elder Scrolls fan I have no shame saying that Oblivion, even though streamlined, was better than Morrowind. It was just more... I don't know... playable.
well to be honest i was pretty young when i played morrowind so i probably did not notice many of the glaring problems. and i haven't gone back and tried to play it since. the problems i had with oblivion mostly involved the retarded levelling system and the terrible loot and max sell price system

Yeah, but the problem I encountered was the story. I've become immune to regenerating health and limited weapon capacity, but the story felt so underwhelming. It's just too plain. Space Marines fight evil aliens to protect Earth. A story that wasn't fresh even for Halo: CE.

Thats practicaly every single popular game ever. Humor me, Mr 1 post, What games DO you like?
He's asking which critically acclaimed games I don't like. The fact it was my first post doesn't matter. These are those acclaimed games I don't like. There are still plenty of acclaimed games left that were not mentioned. Oh btw., I forgot to add the Assassin's Creed series.
Having one post makes it much more likely you are using a throwaway account, so dont blame me if i dont trust you.

And in any case, you didnt answer my question.
Why should I answer it, so I can give you fuel to criticize my choice for games that I do think are good?
Easy. To prove to me, and to anyone who reads this, that you arent a troll wishing to simply bugger people off.

*I did enjoy their sequels and/or prequels, mind.

Portal
I never understood what the fuss was all about. Played the first one, but didn't think it was very special.

*flame suit on*
*flees*
If anyone - ANYONE - ever, ever punishes you for having an opinion, there's no need for a flame suit. They are petty and they are assholes. I loved Portal. I'd say it's my favourite game of all time (sort of). But you play what you enjoy; you like what you like, and don't you dare let anyone tell you your opinion isn't valid.

GTA IV, I found it so crushingly dull, the controls were horrible and I hate Romin.

Easy. To prove to me, and to anyone who reads this, that you arent a troll wishing to simply bugger people off.
I don't have to prove anything to you. Remember, I'm free to choose the games I don't like and you didn't have to reply to my choice of games I didn't like. If anything, I'd say you are the one trolling here atm.
Right. Okay, sure. *Im* trolling.

I made a entirely new account, and immediatly went into a topic in which a Flame War was likely to develop, Made a post which would likely start said flame war, refused to defend myself in any feasible way, and started Troll-Calling other people when someone might have found me out.

OH WAIT. That wasnt me was it?

And no, you dont HAVE to prove anything to me. I never said you cant like games, what i said is that you said that you disliked nearly every single popular game in the last 10 years aside from Half Life and Mario. If this IS true, then you would only likely play about 5 different games. If not, go ahead and prove me wrong.

Gears of War. A poorly written, poorly paced, plodding, grey-brown mess of a shooter. Single player involves moving slowly from one grey room to another, and shooting the same fucking guys over and over again from behind poorly implemented chest-high cover. Multiplayer ends up like a slower, far more boring Call of Duty with everyone hauling their slow-as-molasses bulky frames around the grey-brown maps into shotgun distance. I like my multiplayer quick and intense (unless I'm playing Battlefield), but GoW is slow, boring and

Borderlands. Where do I even start. Awkward shooting mechanics, a horrible HUD, dumb-as-rocks AI, and completely unlikable and annoying characters. Not to mention a lot of the environments don't fit at all with the post-apocalyptic setting of the game. I might even be able to look past the latter issues if it wasn't for the shooting, which mainly involves standing in one place, shooting a variety of muppets who also happen to be standing in one place, until either you or they fall over dead.

Mass Effect. It has a good story, and excellent graphics. I actually didn't mind this game, however, I really didn't care for the shooting and combat. Not a bad RPG, though another issue might have been that I really don't like sci-fi, Halo-esque settings for games.
