That's actually why many System Shock 2 fans, myself included, dislike Bioshock.dogstile said:OT:
I can't bring myself to finish system shock two. I just can't, its fucking terrible. I've seen some guy runthrough it and it wasn't any different to how I was playing it, so it must just be the game. I preferred Bioshock.

Oh god, so much WHY!?
I agree. While I loved Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament, I never really got used to the pace of TF 2. It's just too frantic and chaotic in my book.hashtag said:Team Fortress 2

I like a storyline with a survival, but system shock, even with dated graphics (that don't bother me in the slightest, if the games good i'll play it) wasn't actually that good. If you want my reasoning, the enemy's sucked, the monkeys sucked to fight against and it took way to long to get into it. By the time you got into it, you were actually starting to get bored with it.Absolutionis said:That's actually why many System Shock 2 fans, myself included, dislike Bioshock.dogstile said:OT:

System Shock 2 is actually challenging and worthy of survival horror. The only drawback is the dated graphics.
As you mentioned, Bioshock is a mass-market appeal rehash of System Shock 2 in almost every way. The flavor is stripped, the controls are dumbed down, and the game is significantly easier. You're a walking tank by the middle of the game.
System Shock 2 is a game that appeals to people that enjoy a storyline with survival horror.
Bioshock is a game that appeals to FPS-players that like a bit of storyline.
The "tetris" inventory system always has lovers and dissenters.dogstile said:Also, the inventory system sucked.
*5 Worthwile games.Peuter said:All conjecture on your end. So far no one has started criticizing someone's choice of games but you. That still makes you the troll.Jimmybobjr said:Right. Okay, sure. *Im* trolling.Peuter said:I don't have to prove anything to you. Remember, I'm free to choose the games I don't like and you didn't have to reply to my choice of games I didn't like. If anything, I'd say you are the one trolling here atm.Jimmybobjr said:Easy. To prove to me, and to anyone who reads this, that you arent a troll wishing to simply bugger people off.Peuter said:Why should I answer it, so I can give you fuel to criticize my choice for games that I do think are good?Jimmybobjr said:Having one post makes it much more likely you are using a throwaway account, so dont blame me if i dont trust you.Peuter said:He's asking which critically acclaimed games I don't like. The fact it was my first post doesn't matter. These are those acclaimed games I don't like. There are still plenty of acclaimed games left that were not mentioned. Oh btw., I forgot to add the Assassin's Creed series.Jimmybobjr said:Thats practicaly every single popular game ever. Humor me, Mr 1 post, What games DO you like?
And in any case, you didnt answer my question.
I made a entirely new account, and immediatly went into a topic in which a Flame War was likely to develop, Made a post which would likely start said flame war, refused to defend myself in any feasible way, and started Troll-Calling other people when someone might have found me out.
OH WAIT. That wasnt me was it?
So let me get this straight. I list a bunch of game series I don't like which make up,say 5% of the total games (and that's probably being REALLY generous) available, and in your mind that would leave me with about 5 different games to play? I feel sorry for you if you believe this.Jimmybobjr said:And no, you dont HAVE to prove anything to me. I never said you cant like games, what i said is that you said that you disliked nearly every single popular game in the last 10 years aside from Half Life and Mario. If this IS true, then you would only likely play about 5 different games. If not, go ahead and prove me wrong.
I actually don't like them for the absurdity of the brokenness to the mage class. I haven't even finished Demon's Souls because it was no where near as hard as I heard it was and when I mentioned it was quoted and told to play a melee class. One problem with that I like my mage class and I like my ranged class. So yeah I am not rolling a character that I don't like playing int he first place.Kimarous said:- Demons's / Dark Souls -
Believe it or not, there are people who DON'T like absurdly crushing difficulty. Fuck those games.
