What the fuck.... It got fuckin 9s and 8s out of ten when seriously its a piece of shit... And now I hate Will Wright.... FOREVER (echoes)
Heh, I don't share your enmity although I agree, it was *Okay* and that's about it. Personally I found the Sim City games to be more entertaining and have more depth.

Fallout 3 would be one, simply because it got dull and brought back terrible memories of WOW grind.

Others on my list would be: the ipad, meth, twitter, the idea that facebook is the greatest thing to EVER happen to the internet,

And for shits and giggles, clothing.

The Great Gatsby sucks. If you like it, your lit teacher has successfully tricked you.

I dislike F. Scott Fitzgerald's work with a passion.
Why do you dislike it so much?

The Catcher in the Rye. A celebrated novel, but I hate all the characters, so I have trouble stomaching their repetitive whining. I s'pose the actual writing of the some of the characters is quite good, but the story itself makes me want to bleed from my eyes.

Spider-man 2. I thought that movie was really dumb. I mean, I think spiderman is dumb in general, but I enjoyed the first one. The second one was funny and bad. The third one.... oh goodness. Lets just say I'm happy Sam went back to horror with dmth. VERY. HAPPY.
SAME.

I don't understand why the Academy awards picks certain movies each year... They never pick action films, comedies, horror films, or any real GOOD movie that came out each year. This years pick was a war film about a bomb diffuser diffusing bombs. Last year was about an indian man on Who Wants to be a Millionaire having flashbacks to his life before this moment.

Not once will you ever see The Hangover or Prince of Persia or Drag Me To Hell on any of those lists despite all three (I'm assuming with PoP, it's not out yet) probably being more interesting and better than anything the academy gives recognition to.
I thought it was general concensus that while the Academy loves underdogs, it loves money-hats even more. I'm still waiting for someone to legitimately explain Shakespeare In Love beating Saving Private Ryan in Best Picture. Some movies of that type usually end up sticking around for a long time, even if its just in the bargain DVD section. Shakespeare In Love, an Academy Award Winner For Best Picture, doesn't exist even there.

Classic Literature in general. Don't get me wrong, some classic books are great(like Fahrenheit 451).

Most other ones, I don't get why they're so amazing. The Great Gatsby, The Secret Garden, the Scarlet Letter, the list goes on and on.

Seriously, you think those two movies deserved awards.

While they might have been enjoyable (to some people), those are popcorn flicks. Seriously.

As for Hurt Locker... what movie do YOU think should have won, Avatar? I have to agree with you on the whole 'Academy Awards are sometimes retarded as hell' argument, but the Hurt Locker was one of the best movies of the year, and truly trumped the other nominees.

I don't get why people love Halo. I also don't understand the love for Left4Dead... And plenty of other games now that I think about it.

Outside of gaming I generally like popular things, but I don't get the appeal of Star Wars or Lord of the Rings... I can see why people like them, but why they're so incredibly popular I just don't see. Personally I find them boring but that's just me.
Im not trying to pressure you into liking it, but have you ever read Lord of the Rings or did you just watch the movies? The books are MUCH better

I don't get why everyone feels Chrono Trigger is so awesome. Although it is kind of fun, and the plot is semi-interesting the actual script writing is just terrible. I think this game could have been so much more.

Animal Collective. Maybe they are too "hip" and "ironic" for me to get them. Fucking hipsters.

Granted, Hangover and DMTH weren't great examples, what I'm trying to say is that the academy awards picks the 'best movies' in cinema each year. And really, they're all the SAME FUCKING MOVIE.

Take this for example:

Honestly I just saw one of the movies (I think it was the first one) but I think it was enough for me to know I don't like them.

The books are out of the question for me pretty much because I just don't read books.

I think Animal Collective and Panda Bear are freaking terrible, and I don't understand why they receive so much critical praise - it's all just shitty noise
Fucking tell me about it. This chick I know loved Animal Collective, and she played it in the car with me once. I couldn't take 30 seconds of that crap before demanding a change of music. What's worse is this weakass, apathetic drivel is now being lauded by my best friend, who likes aforementioned female, and is cheerleading that shit into my life.

I want to ask the Escapist: should I kill my friend?

At the risk of sounding old; modern music.
I would love some one to point out a group or solo artist that emerged from the last decade who has the legendary status of; the Who, Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Status Quo, the Chili Peppers, Oasis, Velvet Underground, the Jam, Sting, Michael Jackson, Whitney Huston, Metalica, the Prodigy, the Smiths and many more

Note:
- I am not a fan of all these artist, but acknowledge they're greatness.
- I want someone to point out an artist of great calibre from the decade, not only because I doubt one exist, but also because if one/many do exist, I'd love to listen to them n try them out.
