First off, a game that I will ride into the ground about how fun it was.*
Lair: sure the controls were shit, but that was the only problem. The flying was fun, the story was great, the combat was intense when it needed to be and fun all the time. Unfortunately it suffered greatly because the controls were SHIT.
Now more recently, one that I find many did not like for reasons I can't fathom.
Binary Domain; Sure it played like a Philp K. Dick novel, but it played that very well. The single player was one of the most solid I've played in a good while, that includes gunplay, story, characters etc. However people didn't like it because of the bad multiplayer, and I agree that multiplayer was bad. But that is not enough in my opinion to cause a big deduction in score.
And a third for fun.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed; This is a game that I enjoyed greatly, despite what everyone thinks. The lightsaber combat was fun if not tricky, the Force was a blast to use-pun intended-, and the enemies actually got tougher the more you got through the game. Sure the story and characters are shit, but you don't care about that. After all, you are pulling a fucking Star Destroyer from the fucking SKY!
*(It was fun for the first about 8 missions, then I couldn't get past the fucking canyon night mission)
