I'm going to say Tenchu Z as my example. It was given scores lower than most movie cash-in games. But most people I've talked to who've played it said that found it fun. Anyone have any other examples?

Okay, so it's a GTA clone (but what open world sandbox game isn't now-a-days). It's still much, much, MUCH better than GTA4.
