You know, I’ve always thought of Eastwood as an old man, but this trailer is the first time I’ve felt he’s looked elderly. It’s such a weird feeling; like this man will have to die in his sleep because if death tries to take him while he’s awake he’s just gonna get called a pussy and punched in the junk.
For me it was The Mule. He looked and acted too old for the part he was playing. But hey, if he can still direct a movie he can probably still do most of the things it takes to star in one.You know, I’ve always thought of Eastwood as an old man, but this trailer is the first time I’ve felt he’s looked elderly.
I’d take it all the way back to at least Gran Torino in that respect. It was the first time he could legitimately pull off the grumpy old man trope. For me it was The Mule. He looks decrepit in this. You know, I’ve always thought of Eastwood as an old man, but this trailer is the first time I’ve felt he’s looked elderly.
I doubt he and I would agree on much of anything but the man's a hell of an actor and filmmaker, so I hope this is an appropriate swan song.He looks decrepit in this.
I think we all know that this is going to be his last movie. I sure hope that it's a good one. The man is an absolute fuckin' legend.
I have a feeling he’s also been thinking this since like, Unforgiven. Maybe Gran Torino before he was really like, “Ok, in case this is it, I’m cool with it.”I doubt he and I would agree on much of anything but the man's a hell of an actor and filmmaker, so I hope this is an appropriate swan song.
Funny, because this was the exact sentiment I had about the exact same actor when replying to @SilentPony in the Venom 2 trailer thread concerning his dislike of Woody Harrelson's casting as Cletus Cassidy. I thought of actors I didn't like, but whose performances I respected, and Clint Eastwood immediately sprung to mind. He's brilliant on screen and from a director's chair, but debating an empty chair in the real-life political arena? He's nigh insufferable.I doubt he and I would agree on much of anything but the man's a hell of an actor and filmmaker, so I hope this is an appropriate swan song.
I don't give a shit who he is as a person; there are plenty of actors I don't like as people, but still appreciate their acting talent.
He was always a grumpy old man: just for many years without the advanced age.I’d take it all the way back to at least Gran Torino in that respect. It was the first time he could legitimately pull off the grumpy old man trope.
Checked out the Woody Harrelson stuff a while back and it appears to be highly exaggerated to mostly wrong. Possibly the result of some overexcited Chinese whispers, but still doesn't rule out him being a typical self-absorbed celeb who does stupid stuff at times. Not gonna defend Eastwood though.Funny, because this was the exact sentiment I had about the exact same actor when replying to @SilentPony in the Venom 2 trailer thread concerning his dislike of Woody Harrelson's casting as Cletus Cassidy.
