So you really think piracy isn't as common on the other systems?AnonymousTipster said:Holy shit!
Bet Crytek's happy they're also releasing this game on PS3 and Xbox360.
But basically this is just going to lead to even more punishing DRMs.

Are you suggesting that it IS as common on PS3 and 360 as it is on the PC?crazypsyko666 said:So you really think piracy isn't as common on the other systems?AnonymousTipster said:Holy shit!

I'm sorry I'm a PC gamer but I didn't and won't pirate this or any other game. Don't lump us with f'ing pirates.dragonburner said:This is exactly why nobody makes PC games anymore. PC players complain and moan, but turn around and steel good products made by hardworking developers. SMH
And all the cracking groups will migrate to consoles if there are no challenges on the PC any more.legendp said:If developers are trying to escape pirates by going console only it won't work and it will only annoy all the PC gamers who do buy there games.
That's because with consoles you only have the mod the hardware/firmware and you're good to go rather than having to apply cracks, block firewalls, run virtual disk maskers, stand on one leg and sing the Albanian national anthem backward, etc.legendp said:What! console game's are easy to pirate than PC, (the orange box for example still doesn't work 100% on the PC pirated copy. but 100% works on the console pirated versions. HAWX 2 still hasn't been cracked on PC because of it's annoying DMR but the console version was easily cracked)
Oh god. You are actually very correct. We're all death-threating the pirates and all but most of them can't crack the games and DRM themselves. If the warez groups that actually do the cracking get disbanded or taken down than the thousands of pirates themselves won't have anyone or anything to pirate from. It would also work if the pirate torrenting sites and forums get taken down. The pirating chain roughly goes like this; Crackers do their mojo on the games, the files get uploaded to forums and torrenting sites, pirates download the files and play the game. DRM only temporarily stops the pirates from playing the game and also unessecarily hinders actual paying customers. If action is put into stopping the warez groups or taking down the sites they upload it to than DRM would not be necessary as the pirating is stopped at a higher link in the pirating chain. No DRM means no annoying restrictions to your gameplay and also less developers afraid of releasing and polishing games on PC. Wouldn't that be great?Angryman101 said:tomtom94 said:You see, how does this help anyone? There's already a demo so you can't use the "try before you buy" excuse.
This is literally just for those looking for a free lunch and all it does is convince the industry that further anti-piracy restrictions are necessary, which leads to Ubisoft DRM. Do we want that again? Why are you people blaming the pirates? You should be blaming the person/people who leaked the fucking thing. That's like blaming the people watching a fire burn instead of the person who started it.gmaverick019 said:ugh...
see. this is why i never defend the pirates.
try as you might, pirates are pirates for a reason.
greedy.fuckers.
to be fair they don't claim it's theirs, neither they make money on it. (Except for the guy who leaked it, now thats theft, plain and simple.)TeH PizZa Guy said:This is beyond bad, this is horrific and disgusting. True art is made with care and effort. The result of theft of a candy bar is that someone eats a candy bar which wasn't payed. How is that different from copying the candy bar?Radeonx said:...
I'll use the copying scenario. If you walk into a store, and steal a candy bar, you are taking the cost of the candy bar from that store. If you walk into a store and copy the candy bar, and take the copy, you are still stealing, but the store doesn't lose any real money.
Granted, it is still stealing, and the potential money could have been real money, so I understand where you are coming from completely.
excuse me? Im sorry but I don't like being acused of being a pirate, I get all my games legitimatley, that said it does make me wonder what thease people think...I guess they don't caredragonburner said:This is exactly why nobody makes PC games anymore. To be fair it DOES affect sales, but you're correct that most pirates wouldn't buy games even if piracy weren't possible, I know many people who would stick to freeware and even some who would physically steal copies from stores...LiudvikasT said:Stop whining, will you. Piracy does not affect the sales.
Most pirates wouldn't buy games even if there were no way to pirate.
