Leo readied himself to work on Le'arda Potsuni. He lit a stick of incense an placed it in the had of a small statuette of a deity he kept in his cockpit.
"Le'arda,speak." Leo whispered
"A bird chirped in reply"
"Good, play track 4 from the soundscapes file."
"More chirping"
"Yes, I know I prefer forest tones. Emmersons got me a bit worked up at the moment, and speak your mind no one is around presently." Leo said in a curt tone.
"Yes, sir" Le'arda's cool female voice stated.
"Also, run a diagnostics sweep of the electrics, I have yet to get the feel for the new system."
"Right away, and what will you do in the mean time?", Le'arda inquired.
"Im gonna hit the business district for a bit, see if any parts I could use have come in. Also, code up. You're going to be running while I'm away." He heard a bird chip in reply as he ran down his mech and headed out the door.

"Halbert, how are you today?"

"*sigh* Maybe, but we two won't be allowed much since I'm the only trainee here."

Langda snickered. "Yeah."

Ella sat in her mech, Eclipse, not fully awake, but not fully asleep either. She was somewhere in between. She always did this. Ella had little to no motivation.. in anything, including operating a three ton mech.

"Umm... Ms. Ella?" The mech said quietly. MS.ELLA!! WAKE UP!! THERE'S A FIRE!! I'M ON FIRE!!

Ella's eye opened widely and she jumped out of her chair, hitting her head on the main viewing screen as she did. "AH! You son of a *****!"

"Good to see that you are awake Ms.Ella. I thought I had lost you there for a second. I do believe that it is time for us to go out. Its been approximately twelve hours since we've killed something."

"I know, I know. You love murdering things, I love murdering things. That's why we make such a great pair. Unfortunately we're going to have to wait for a bit. I'm not sure what today's plans are, and until the boss saids what we're doing I can't go anywhere."

"So until the meatbag saids we can go kill something I have to stay here, in this spot?"

"You sure do", Ella said as she curled back into her chair, starting to doze off, "You sure.. Zzzzzzzzzzz."

"Ms. Ella? "

Rufus disembarked from the inbound train when it had reached a halt. He was now in the Northern district, as the helpful broadcasting voices seemed eager to tell people who were unlikely to know that already, because they obviously hadn't gotten on the train for this destination.

He made his way through the crowds as best he could, sometimes managing a faster pace where the crowds thinned after passing the shop and market entrances, but getting caught in them again just as quickly. It seems there must have been some kind of celebration here recently, unless it is always this busy here, he thought to himself as he made an attempt to clear the crowds finally.

Rufus made it into a small clearing in the crowds, where they parted, going around a trio of information-bots who stood silently at the center of the precious space in this crowded place. "Ah. Hello there. I am wanting to inquire about any available jobs..."

Name: James Eldridge

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Race: Canis. The Canis are similar to humans in many ways, but have several differences. The first is that they are obligate carnivores - they survive solely by eating meat which they tear with their four retractable canines. While their sight is generally on par with humans, their senses of smell and hearing are far more developed, along with their sense of balance and inertia, and their ears taper to a slight point. Their feet have one less toe than a human and also possess a joint in the middle to allow it to flex into a position more suited for funning on all fours (their wrists share the same trait). A flexible skeleton and muscles built for endurance allow the Canis to walk upright or move on all-fours with surprising speed, the latter usually reserved for hunting or fighting. In terms of social structure, the Canis usually live in packs - in the modern age, this usually equates to many related and allied Canis living close to each other in the same neighbourhood. As a result from this social structure, the Canis value loyalty and honesty greatly.

Description: James stands at around 6' and is muscled, but not overly so, giving him a good range of strength, endurance and flexibility. His dark hair is cut short and is naturally messy, usually spiking upright no matter what he does to it. In contrast, his skin is fair and his eyes are a piercing blue. James can usually be found in jeans and a plain t-shirt when not dressed in his mech interface suit, although he may or may not be wearing shoes.

Bio: Growing up with his parents, James had a normal life in the West Quarter of the City among one of the many Canis clans that inhabited it. James' father, along with many of the Canis in James' clan, worked for the security company and James learned about maintaining and piloting mechas from an early age, as well as the energy politics surrounding the supply of Crystaline. Knowing how important it was to defend Celentic City and the supply of Crystaline, he signed up as a pilot on his 18th birthday.

James yawned as he walked into the hanger area, feeling his canines extend as he stretched his jaw. Feeling his teeth snick back into place, he continued walking past the mecha units that different pilots were checking over. Seeing Gil standing by one of the staircases at the edge of the hangar, James walked over, waving as he went. After a short while spent dodging ammunition transports and maintenance crews, he eventually reached the staircase.

"Hey Gil, how's it going today?"

"Hey James, just getting ready for Patrol. How 'bout you?" Gil asked cheerfully. She signalled him to walk with her, as she made her way over to the intercom.

James followed Gil as she began to walk.

"Not much, just got in really. If you need an extra hand on patrol I think I'll be able to shift myself over from light duties today, God knows it'll be a lot more interesting."

He cast a gaze over to where Jackal was nestled in her maintenance bay, her armour glinting in a metallic black sheen.

"If you wanna stretch your legs, fine. But they said it should be quiet today." Gil replied, picking up the small radio and speaking into it.

"

Will all pilots and trainee's scheduled for this morning's patrol please report to the Hanger ASAP.

Gil's voice echoed through the whole building as she put the radio back in its slot.

James chuckled.

"Believe me, leg-stretching is always preferable to paperwork."

Seeing a small crowd of people beginning to assemble, he turned back to Gil.

"So who's heading out today?"

"Oh, for Feth's sake! I could have sworn that advert said 'If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask the information bots in the North District, located near the tram lines.'. Now I need to find out what to do..." Rufus started spinning in circles, trying to figure out which way to go, before turning back to the info-bots.

He poked one to get it's attention. "Are you sure that I'm meant to ask elsewhere about the security jobs? My source of information says I'm meant to ask you lot, right here in the North District." Rufus started tapping a foot while waiting for the bot to cogitate an answer.

The Bot beeped again, processing the information.

"To apply for a job in security, please find the main office in the East District, and ask for a form.

"Uhhh..." Gil looked at the rota on the wall.
"Me, Ella, Langda, Uke and... Silic? I thinkt hat's his name anyways, 'cause the boss always writes that." She laughed, ticking her own name off the list.
Gil moved slightly away from the wall, waiting for the others to get here.

Ella heard Gil's voice over the intercom. She turned in her chair. "Ten more minutes.."

Ms.Ella, I think its time to get up now. MS.ELLA!!!!!

After a few minutes Ella finally opened her eyes. "[small]Stupid mech[/small]" She mumbled. Ella lazily got out of her mech and walked over to the group. Seeing Gil and James she waved at them.

"What's going on?" She said in a groggy voice.

Silic enter the room, his eyes changed color from blue to red open seeing the others.

"Can someone give me a reason to why I am here?"
