I'm not sure if this counts, but Deus Ex was boring, looked goddamn horrible, and had almost nothing going for it in my mind.

I HATED XIII. My uni lecturer was sooooo into this game and encouraged us all to play it. I didn't make it past the beach hut, I was that bored.

In regards FFX-2, in theory, it was a decent game. The dress-sphere grids were cool. I think people just had a really bad reaction against Yuna and her pining after Tidus.
I liked XIII, but I didn't play it long... I didn't like FPS's on consoles back then.

Fallout 3 was kinda "Meh". A lot of people tell me that it was sooo great.
Not really a cult classic.
Yeah, but I can see it being referred to as such one day.
How can a game change from a multi million best seller into a cult classic that didn't sell well?
I think I forgot what "Cult Classic" meant, oops.

I agree with this, I actually enjoyed FFX-2. Thought I think another reason a lot of people hate this game is because they think of it as a Final Fantasy game, and not a spin-off like Crisis Core.
That said Final Fantasy X-2 is waaaaay better than the thing they tryed to pass as a Final Fantasy game a few months ago... what was it called? I think they tried to call it Final Fantasy XIII but I am not sure...

Earthbound
Killer 7 - By all means I liked the aesthetic and overall themes, I just found the levels to be a bit too samey (Find x item that is used in y place to progress in one area of the level)

Final Fantasy 7.

Though, I've already stated that I hated that game.
How are final fantasy and mega man games cult classics, they are about as mainstream as you can get.

It won't be, unless its you referring to it as such.

Massive game, massive appeal, massive sales.

Not cult.

I'd hardly call Final Fantasy 7 a "cult classic".

I never thought too highly of Darwinia, it just got kinda boring.

Planescape: Torment kind of bored me between hours 2 and 10. I could not get out of the Hive!. Then I looked it up online and it got good again.

Do Mel Brooks films count? Blazing Saddles bored me to tears, and Young Frankenstein really only made me chuckle once or twice.

There aren't any games that immediately come to mind.

Don't worry, it's awful by today's standards. Most of the people on the internet who say how amazing it is, either haven't played it for about 8 years and don't realize it doesn't hold up as a good game anymore; or are looking back through rose tinted glasses and refusing to see how bad it is now. (note before people flame me that I didn't say all people, but I do believe for the most part that is the truth) I'm sure it was a great game at its time and I respect that, but that doesn't mean its just as good now when everything it did has been done 10 times better.

So yeah, I am going to go with Deus Ex as well.

Yes, everything Deus ex did has now been done 10 times better... in separate games.
I still enjoy it very much today.

FF8 for me; I enjoyed FF9 though.
