I shave my head to something like 12mm then let it grow out again over time and the cycle repeats itself

I cut my own hair all the time. Whenever it gets too long I just crack out my flowbee and vacuum cleaner. Besides the cost, I got tired of barber shops that would cut my hair the way they wanted it, usually leaving it long so they can do more business.

Yup, I've cut my hair for about 3 years now; my mom did it beforehand.
Only been to a hairdressers once in my life...bad, bad experience.
So yuh, I like to think I do a good job.
CHECK THIS I even went to the trouble of taking a picture

Saves me a lot of money and distress:D

I couldn't cut mine my self as it requires the use of scissors and not just a shaver to cut. I'm in two minds to grow it long again actually.

What do you think escapist?

OT
If you wanna try cutting it your self then go for it. It's only hair...if you mess up it'll grow back eventually.

I use the clippers with no length guard on it (bare blade as we call it around my area, not a shaving blade though). So the only way I can fuck up is a don't cut enough, which is probably the opposite fear of what the OP is having.

I do, I just shave my head which is basically impossible to mess up if you have eyes and a mirror.

I always cut my own hair but because it's long the only tricky part is getting the back even. Two mirrors, one pair of scissors, and patience as to not lop off a fingertip is all that's needed for me.
If you want to cut it, go for it. Hair grows quickly and if it looks really awkward just act like you did it on purpose. There are enough crazy hair styles no one will care.

haha I don't even trust hairdressers to cut my hair for some reason. I always see some fault in my hair, I don't really like it too much to be honest.

Is your hair naturally that straight? I think you suit either style, but you look more content in the second picture. Depends whether it's in your best interests to look more conservative and business-like and how hot is it where you are.

That's true, I should probably stop caring and just cut it already. It might slightly jeopardise my chances of finding a job if I don't look neat and everything, but it'll grow back.

Tbh, I'm afraid of people saying "who's this fucking hipster/emo kid pretending like she doesn't care what anyone thinks" Ehh, no-one will really care, especially if I be nice, and I should just have it how I want it. I don't like wearing this stupid hat to bed, a fringe would be quite practical now.
