No. But what I was disputing was that this was the FIRST robotic arm with feeling. Professor Warwick already did that. This may be the first real life application of the technology, but not the first robotic arm with feeling.poncho14 said:Has it been connected to someone who has lost his/her arm? or is he still working on that.
They will have to use there other hand... if they have 2 robotic hands then I hope they are over 18Reuq said:To be hinest I still thnk that they will be treated like freaks.... they'll just be able to crush there foes... ouch. Very off topic, will there be grip-strength limitations, to stop violence/massive wanking accidents.Macksheath said:Show your new loyalty by chopping off your left hand. In all seriousness, I am happy at this; finally amputees will stop being treated like freaks and will now become the first Terminators of the future (AKA 'cool')
I don't think so, somehow. I can see them being utterly opposed to it.Bitter_one13 said:I'm just curious how the devout theological types would view this in terms of limb regeneration. I think they would very much so be for it, after all
Why? It's up to the individual what he or she does with their body.Bitter_one13 said:I despise the concept of modifying your body in artistic pursuits...
Actually, I somewhat doubt that. Or if there are limits, they'll be ridiculously high, more imposed for the safety of the equipment than the person.Reuq said:To be hinest I still thnk that they will be treated like freaks.... they'll just be able to crush there foes... ouch. No one's dying to get this, not even little stem cells. If God supposedly has no issue with piercings, hydraulic pumps, or the prosthetic limbs we have now, I don't see why the issue would start.theshadow308 said:I don't think so, somehow. Yep. And I don't have to like it on myself. Tattoos just represent a temporary statement, a statement of who you were at the time, a reminder. I want to forget the person I was, and currently am even, as soon as humanly possible. Part of why I'm so enthusiastic about this whole cyberization (SP?) thing.theshadow308 said:Why? Actually, now that you mention it, I'm willing to guess that that would the upper limit determination of how powerful of prosthetics can be made. The bone has to be uncovered, and I can't think of any easy way to harden it without disabling the capability of blood production. Granted, I know that there is synthetic blood out there, but there's the issue of coagulation and antibodies.MaxTheReaper said:This is very interesting.
Maybe soon we'll be able to augment flesh and blood limbs with mechanical parts.
Bones that have a much lower chance of breaking, for instance?
