Yet...life made a sudden twist...
In 2489, what many had long speculated was revealed: The Earth would be destroyed on january 1, 2500. The many ways we had maimed the planet over the years had finally caught up. The earth had become so unstable that the entire core would collapse.
Panic ensued. The thing we had taken for granted for so long was finally going to collapse. We were doomed. However, in 2492, a solution was made up, called the "Space program." The goverment founded 1000 space ships to go out and begin to search for a new home. For one year, they would find nothing.
However, in 2493, they found three inhabitable planets. However, they were already populated. However, the goverment refused to let this detail stop them when they landed one space ship each on the planets. Three space ships landed, two returned.
And thus was born the three planets.
Number one: Khe san. Inhabited by a hostile tribe called "The Xenos" from the word "Xenophobic" because of their refusal to let anyone onto their planet. The goverment issued a war against the tribe. It´s been going on for two years. Both sides are running low on supplies. They have entered a game of stalemate.
The goverment knowing that if they make a final attack and fail, they will be forced to abandon 3 billion of humans to die on the earth, and The Xenos knowing that if they provoke the "Earthlings" to make one final attack and they fail to defend themselves, the humans will destroy every last trace of them.
Both sides just need something to tip the scales in their favor.
The other two planets are rarely mentioned, even though they are just as important. Negotiations have been going slowly, but the humans are relatively sure they have on of the planets on their side. But they can begin to focuse on that when the result of the battle of Khe san has been shown.
You are a member of an attack squad that is about to be sent to Khe san to attack a Xenos position.

In front of you is an elderly gentlemen who looks incredibly bored.
"Hello. Before you are sent down to Khe san, we are required to ask you some standard questions. Please answer accurately." says the man.
"Okay. Sounds fair." you respond.
"Good. First question: Are you male or female?"
"What? You can´t tell?" you say.
The man sighs like if he had been asked the question many times before. He takes of his glasses and rubs his eyes.
"Please just answer the question, would you kindly?" he says.
