Those of you who clicked on this hoping to see a crazy rant from me about how D and D is devil worship, then HA HA suckers. But please, do stick around.

I need new ears... partially because i tore mine out to get away from this conversation i was having. I was minding my own business with a few friends playing D and D, when the head of teh Christian club walks in, pushes the graph paper and figures off the table and says "I have just saved your souls." She then went on for about ten minutes about how playing D and D was devil worship. She said something about magic, and the deities and stuff, i don't remember, cause it was about that time i had an aneurysm and passed out.

Now, some rules, this is NOT to turn into a discussion about how ALL Christians are wacko's just the nutty ones. And also, i would like to hear some INTELLIGENT conversation about whether or not her point has any merit. Lets try to stay civil here people (i know she certainly didn't, not when she stomped on my mage figurine) What is your best or worst experience playing D and D too (this was my second worst)

Whenever someone tries something like that on me, I just look at them and say "Wow you've really put a lot of thought into this... Such a pity you're wasting you're life."

well since neither magic nor the devil are actually real then her point is invalid also consider that destroying anothers property isn't going to gain her any points with Jesus who didn't even like casting stones at people.

The responce for all future situation is
"it's your hell go burn in it"

It's true. Your children, like it or not, are attracted in their weaker years to the occult. And a game like D&D fuels their imagination and makes them feel "Special" while drawing them deeper and deeper into the bowels of EL DIABLO.

you should walk into a christian club meeting, throw all their stuff on the floor and say that you just saved their souls.

the atempt to induct them into the church of the flying spaghetti monster.

eye for an eye mofos...

just ignore them? she's lucky I wasn't there, I would have given her about a million reasons why she's wrong, and probably made her cry (I'm apparently very good at that...).

You handled the situation much better than I would, I would have been pretty pissed. Her point has no merit whatsoever, and as such should be ignored. However since she damaged your property you should "kindly" (and I use the term kindly loosely) that you do not like her touching your property and that she can take her opinion to someone who cares.

Almost but not quite punch her in the face and say "And i've just saved your teeth, now fuck off".

D and D isn't even meant for kids, i mean, there is a lot of complex reading involved. And, if that is a concern, then video games are the same kinda thing, which begs the question: why are you on a video games websites forum?

Well, she obviously has a few screws loose...That was not a Christian way to approach the situation and she needs to take a serious look at her life and actually do some research...

I am a Christian myself...Born and raised in the church...And actually I thought D&D always looked like an interesting and fun game...I just never had anyone to actually play it with...And I honestly don't know anyone who still thinks that it is "devil worship" anymore...

I guess you just had the luck of running into one of those people who try to use Christianity as an excuse to act better than everyone else...And I'd like to say I'm sorry that this happened...It may not mean much to you coming from a random stranger on the internet, but I do not agree with how this "Christian" acted at all...

It's the whole nonsense that was the movie "Mazes and Monsters". In a large enough population, a small percentage of people are going to take things way too seriously. Those people inspire the thoughts in the outside world that ALL are like those few, abetted by people in opposition. It's the same psychology behind WoW huntards. If I were to make a hunter character, that would not make me any more stupid, but the perception of my character would project onto me the player by others.

The proper reponse during any attempted conversion/preaching session is pointing in the opposite direction and yelling "Look it's Jesus!" and then running away! Also, I love the irony of Christianity; demons and magic are evil!...now back to worshipping Big Brother and his zombie son.

Oooh, and another thing. What is wrong with kids feeling special? What is wrong with them having their own little reality, imaginary friends and the like? Besides, Christianity preaches that those who follow its teachings get to go to a really happy place, the most exclusive club out there, when they die, that would make me feel pretty special.

Personally, i think that all this "This is evil, that is evil" junk, is just an excuse for the hardcores to avoid any real parenting, and to avoid blame on them when their kids turn out badly.

Go to their bible club, push all their bibles off the table and say, "I've just saved your minds."

Then run, because Fundamentalists tend to forget that eternal forgiveness thing and go straight to violence in these situations.

Dude, why the hell did you let that stupid ***** go on at you for ten minutes!? I would have grabbed her by the collar and roughly propelled her out the door while screaming in her ear "IF I EVER SEE YOU IN HERE AGAIN I'M GONNA BEAT YOUR LUNATIC ASS WITH A +5 HOLY AVENGER UNTIL YOU BEG FOR YOUR STUPID GOD TO SAVE YOU!!!"

Does she have a point? Fuck no, of course she doesn't have a fucking point! She's a fucking loony fundamentalist idiot, you NEVER give them so much as the time of day!

That's a famous series of lines from dr. demento. Type "dnd" into youtube and half of the videos will be AMV's of the whole skit. It's hilarious.

what a heap of crap, another hardcore christian sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong and trying to "save the world" when no one asked them too... *sigh*

where were you playing?
you should speak to someone, go above her head and frankly, tell on them, say how she disrupted you and your group and broke your private property
the whole "magic and deities" arguement is a common arguement by christians when it comes to dnd, but just remember she is a brain-washed scared little girl who is just afraid of what she doesn't understand...

next time she mentions kids going nuts and stabbing people because their fighter character did the same thing in an encounter, mention the hundreds of thousands of people who play dnd but are perfectly normal

hell go for broke and mention vin diesel! (its an instant v/win bullet:))

and if she gets mad just tell her to get back to westboro with all the other crusaders

she stomped on your mage?
well its no wonder he broke he probably had like 7 hit points...
