So I used to think I was pretty good at videogames when I was only playing single player but now I realize that I pretty much suck. When I would play Halo 1 & 2 I thought I was awsome but when I started playing Halo 3 online (since i didn't have XBL on the original xbox) I got my ass kicked. Then I felt so acoplished when I beat Gutar Hero 3 on hard till the next day when I saw my friend 5 star Through the Fire and Flames on expert. I realize that only 1 person can be the best but it's such a drag when you relize that u aren't as good as you thought u were. Does anybody else feel this way?

Maybe you're Rusty/Having a bad day?
I go onto Unreal Tournament 2004 all the time and get my ass kicked, but come back 50 minutes later and dominate.

I know exactly how you feel I was pretty good in my inner circle of friends then I got live and realised I really wasn't that good. But I have gotten somewhat better.

That was me in seventh grade. You wake up after your first ever online match... Oh well, you take the beating, you play on hard, you take another beating and you get good. I did it, and it worked for me. I still suck compared to my friend who does nothing but play Search and Destory in COD4 while im running arround in Oblivion. I did use to pwn that same guy in a hard core way before i got live though...

Find something no one else plays and get really good at it, like I did for DDR.
I dont feel that way really, Im pretty average at most games.

Also to OP: dont abreviate the word "you" with "u".

Nope.

For me it's not about being the best or not even necessarily good. It's about having fun and having a challenge. Someone beating me isn't that depressing.

EDIT: case in point, I started playing MOH: Allied Assault online way back. The first day I was pretty much killed first, always. By the second day I was getting better and were actually an asset to my team. By the fourth day, I was pwning noobs left and right and sometimes even killing the entire enemy team on my own. That made it boring. I sent the next few days playing and looking for a decent challenge/good servers.

I got bored and uninstalled the game by the time the week was full. Being too good is boring.

he beat Haskill arround with a level 40 "Elven Willie" before I even got my way out of the sewer. He was also a skooma dealer. He played Oblivion for 3 years now, and has moved on to being a modder on the pc version.
Lucky bastard...

I think of it like this... not being the best at all videogames is just my penalty for getting laid.

Eh. I have my good days and my bad days. I'll go 5 kills and 11 deaths on cod4, but the next day 30 for 2 with a .50 cal.

Nope. My ego flows like a river, it cannot build up without a catastrophe and it cannot be crushed.
So poetic...

In multiplayer it's mostly about having fun, so I manage to laugh even when obliterated, and in single player I just play in easy difficulty :p

But what happens when you have that challenge and u can't complete it because your used to way smaller challenges? Or when you finally complete that challenge and you feel great untill you realize everyone else owned that challenge months ago?

I'm pretty good at some games and horrible at others. I don't make it my personal goal to be good in online games when I'd rather just have fun.

now his level 40 "Elven Willie" is found in the 5th retarded Pope to excommunicate him's spine. His 13 year old brother has a 1.12 ratio in Call of Duty 4.
