well thats how it goes. so many people i knew would brag about how they beat halo on legendary but that doesnt mean shit. bottom line, you suck at video games until you play online and thats when you find out how good you are
I actually find it easier to kill people online as the computer knows exactly what your doing. And takes less shots to kill you on "Legendary" than it does online. Also some people arent great so pretty easy to win half of the time.

Yea that happened to me when i went from singleplayer to playing multiplayer on my PS3. But after about a week I was scoring pretty well holding my own.

But it did take a bit of practice to get used to playing against real people

Don't mind sucking. Shows that i have a life and don't spend all my waking ours playing video games. They're usually the ones dominating everything. I feel sorry for them.

Legendary's easy in the first one (on two player).
One of you stays at the checkpoint, the other runs out, kills someone, dies, goes back out, respawns and so on. like a tag match.

I used to feel as if though I was a really great Mortal Kombat player; when I got Xbox Live... I can't even count how many times I lost.

Nothing to feel bad about, after all, it is just a game. I no longer care if I win or lose, I just play.

Yep, that's how I felt when playing CS. So I found something I'm decent at (TF2) and it's not an issue anymore.

1) Start playing single player
2) Finish single player on normal difficulty
3) Get good enough to beat single player on hardest difficulty
4) Start playing multi-player (and this is where you deviate from the expert plan)
5) get good enough to beat people online

You'll very probably never be the best, but all you need to do is to be able to hold your own against the average player. At Christmas, I was truly hopeless at TF2. I kept playing with the heavy, and soon those 1:5 k/d's started to get more like 1:2's, then finally 1:1's. Now? Now I think to myself that if I'm not at the top (unless there's a VERY good reason for me not being at the top- as in I'm being outplayed by 3+ players), I'm not playing well. Some games I'm managing closer to 5:1 over the whole game, but somewhere between 1:1 and 2:1 is about right.

tl;dr- Just keep playing multiplayer, eventually you'll learn the tricks that mean you die at the moment, and then you can use those tricks yourself.

I tend to only play multiplayer so I know exactly how good I am or how much I suck .

TF2 I suck, unless im Sniper or Medic (in terms of points anyway), but I prefer being Pyro to backburn people or set them on fire and run away. Dont care if I suck at that game however its just úber fun to play. :D

Played CoD2 religiously back in the day and I have to do well in a Call of Duty game or I feel like im getting old and losing skill.

I'm not very good, but thats becuase i have no practise i only play when im with friends, but occassionaly i get quite good at some games, like Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas, but if i play halo with my friends they would rather kill me as many times as they can than kill the opposite team :/ But im not bothered, its just fun, anyway i WILL get my revenge one day lol

So I used to think I was pretty good at videogames when I was only playing single player but now I realize that I pretty much suck. When I would play Halo 1 & 2 I thought I was awsome but when I started playing Halo 3 online (since i didn't have XBL on the original xbox) I got my ass kicked. Then I felt so acoplished when I beat Gutar Hero 3 on hard till the next day when I saw my friend 5 star Through the Fire and Flames on expert. I realize that only 1 person can be the best but it's such a drag when you relize that u aren't as good as you thought u were. Does anybody else feel this way?
don't feel bad, you get some tireless obsessives on halo on xbox live that spend all their free time just kicking ass on halo, accept being average because the more you play the better you get but you lose out socially

I get in some serious ruts sometimes online in FPS's. Sometimes i just can't get my rhythm going and get blown out over and over and over again. However i still hold open invites 2 anyone at any time to try me at tekken tag. >:D

Haha absolutely, I thought I was a super gamer when I beat Gears on insane and a few other games on hard, and then two months ago I went online for the first time and have since got my ass repeatedly handed to me in COD4 and CODWAW.

But when you look at how some dudes have put 70-80 days into the games it's hardly surprising you get repeatedly annihalated...
