Uhh... Pretty much Mass Effect 2 :/ "Hey, let's take out everything from the first one, and replace it with bland and generic gameplay mechanics, and a subpar story strung together by short sub missions..."

Hopefully, Bioware gets their act together for ME3...somewhat doubt it though

Fragile for the Wii and:

Mass Effect, which had the shittiest gameplay with the most useless interface and vehicle sections but had a good story, that turned into Mass Effect 2 with easy and intuitive gameplay if bland, still the same shitty interfaces, and a poor excuse for a plot with only a small bunch of sidequests that barely develop anything.

Picked up the first Resistance game for £5 yesterday. It's fun for £5, but man it could have been so much better. If it only it was slightly grittier, making it seem like a fight for survival. At the moment I'm doing fine running and gunning. =/

Portal. It just made me wish, ad nauseum, that the portal gun was in an actual FPS. Made by someone better.

Excuse me?

I'm going to assume we played different games and move on.
We can assume you had no idea how to play the game properly.

If I want to play a good stealth game, I'll play Blood Money, thank you very much.

Not a game whose main stealth skill turns you invisible.

If I'll want to experience terrible A.I. and bore myself to death... yeah, I could see why you would play a stealth Alpha Protocol character.

Especially with minigames being so stupidly precise and raising the alarm when you fail them.

So because you can't play it properly, it's bad?

I have no trouble at all playing it as a stealth RPG, nor do the mini games give me any trouble.
Ergo, it's great.

Or, you know, they could've intentionally made more than one way to play the game for people with different styles to play. Sheesh.

OT: I can't think of many things that actually disappointed me, but one game that did was the Syphon Filter series when it went to the PS2. Up to that time, I really liked the series... then it became... meh. Playable, but meh, disappointing.

Huh... yeah, you know what? You could be right. I've probably been wrong this whole time.

Oh wait.

I'm assuming you haven't played the PC version of the minigames with a keyboard and mouse, then.

Either that or you're just wrong. I rarely say that but I have to say it now.

I was talking to both of you, you know. He's wrong for saying you're playing it wrong and you're wrong for throwing coal into the train engine of trollin'.

Alright.

Then I apologise for my smartass response and will refrain from continuing this fairly pointless argument.

Yay. Let's everyone hug and stop derailing this topic.

OT: Oh yeah, and almost all the X-COM sequels... blagh. Especially the new one.

Shattered Horizon. It had a great concept; first person shooter, in zero gravity, able to lock on to any surface and shoot from any angle in three dimensions. The developers managed to ruin it by basing it on a graphical bench marking engine so that only high end PCs could run the bloody thing.

Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, but it felt unfinished to me (like when I accidentally found a secret area that looked like it was meant to continue the training level. Also, the ending was too open for me.)

Not to mention completely failing to maintain a playerbase. I loved the game during its free weekend, but almost immediately after, every server became perpetually empty.

Dark Void. The jetpack was such a good idea and it could have been a lot of fun, but unfortunately the regular shooting sections were so boring and a lot of the missions lasted a good 15 minutes longer than they should have. There was so much potential. I really hope they make a sequel with a bigger budget.

F.E.A.R. Perhaps if they actually did something with the "scary" parts, it wouldn't have sucked quite as much.
