So from the looks of it, everything but the graphical update and six-player access is free to people who already own the game.

What sucks is that it seems that DX9 PC owners have to rebuy the game to get the DX11 version... that just doesn't seem right. Granted, we are still a long ways off from the release, so something might be sorted out by then. A discount, at least.

Still, I am excited for the new content.

Still wrong. There are also gameplay and enemy AI, behavior and placement changes not present in the DX9 update.

But the owners of the last ten versions, 360 and PS3, will be getting those changes for free. Just not the graphics or pvp player number enhancement.
Also: apparently, the update comes for 360 and PS3 in February, while the bundled retail version is coming in April.

They won't be getting all the changes. The only ones included in the update are new NPCs (for "story improvement") and some minor balance changes. Refer to my two eariler posts for more info.

Am I the only person who is actually looking forward to this? The rest of this thread is full of people wanting nothing to do with it it seems.

I understood about 10 words in that trailer. Seriously, couldn't they have hired a voice actor who could speak clearly?

Oh well. I read up on it, and am super hyped. Especially for the price!
Oh, wait, here we go. Yay!

Yeah, I had to watch the trailer twice before I understood what he was saying. I think the music is a bit too loud, so that doesn't help. Basically the guy says that so many have tried and failed. One drowned in poison, another sleeps below in the ancient realm (or something like that) and then the fire thing. You are the only one to ever stand where you're standing now.

Maybe not the only one, but certainly one of the few.

That's because the rest of the people realized it's a shameless attempt at grabbing money from the customers.

Dark Souls 2 is high on the list of my favorite games of all time. People really like to pick on it for all the changes from the first game, but they aren't neccesarily bad, I think. Even though it does have its problems, the game is just so undeniably fun to me. I've made at least thirteen characters that I put significant time into, and quite a few more that I abandoned rather early. It's been my "go to game" ever since it came out, and now there's a free update coming out that gives me even more reason to play it...

So yeah, I'm hyped.

Once this comes out I'll give DS2 another shot, though it's overall a very poor game when compared to the other two in so many integral ways that no amount of patches will bring it anywhere near up to par. But at least some of the more frustrating horseshit things will be fixed.

All I want to know is, are they FIXING this game yet? I REALLY want to play this but between the hit boxes, lag, and balancing issues I can't. I couldn't care less about graphics, all I want is a working game.

I heard rumours of this DLC as long as 3 months ago.

Im glad to see its a thing, and i expect others will be happy to see that its coming to XB1/PS4.

I expect ill pick it up. Despite its flaws i enjoy DS2 more than i did DS1.

And where are you getting that information?
Have a look at this [http://steamcommunity.com/app/236430/discussions/0/624076027426323183/] thread. It contains extractions from NeoGaf with translations from the original Japanese Namco site.

World and story additions are being added, along with new npcs and events, which means additional areas and enemy placement as well. Those are the only ones I'm concerned with and could care less about the other meager stuff the next ten is getting. This is essentially a game of the year edition with a little bonus on the side. I am content with it, because it comes free for those of us who own the original stuff.

Not to mention, I don't generally trust supposed neogaf translators and so.

Strange. While I'll admit it feels like weapons have triple reach on enemies quite often, I've had far worse stuff in Dark Souls 1. I've never seen an enemy hit from accross the room, and its a shitload easier to get invasions and PVP then Dark Souls 1.
That's weird... I've never had the PVE have latency on me or anyone I know in my entire 1,000+ hours of Dks1.
But I do agree with you about Dks2, it most certainly is easier to connect to people with little to no failure in both summoning and invading (no more "Summoning Failed/Invasion Failed messages).
But once you're actually in their world... that's a whole different ball park. Whatever Dks2's "dedicated servers" are, they certainly do not mix well with the game's lasting hotbox issue on top of it's insane amount of latency. It's never fun for you or the host 60% of the time.

personally i'd not buy it for full price buuuut if it was on a good deal i would consider it (if the game was properly done ofc)

that being said i would definitely consider hacking the game so i had my items (since i'm essentially playing it for the 4th time)

Ha, yeah it does seem rather unclear and muffled the audio levels are a bit off too. I'm fairly sure it's the voice actor for Cromwell of Carim so maybe he's got a bigger role.

Will my max adaptability item chucker character become a reality then or will it remain a placebo stat?
I know exactly what I get when investing into every other stat but adaptability is still this black hole for souls that does barely anything at all and the things it claims to do are sprinkled with lies.

Will my greatshield no longer be a detriment?
Enemies that bounce off of it can just instantly attack again indefinitely until my guard is broken.
That includes bosses like the ruin sentinels.
You better don't try to block their attacks if you have a greatshield.

Will castspeed become an actual thing that actually fucking works for fucks sake??
It's just like adaptability and seems to work in weird, unexpected, unexplained ways like it only works on spells that have an actual "casttime" (and even then you'll only notice something with that level 3 castspeed ring that gives ridiculous ammounts of it, more than you could ever get with stats so why bother) so you'll never be able to speed soularrows up.
Why can't i become a soularrow machinegun?

Will...

You are so damn bitter, do you have anything else to do besides complain on this thread?

Seems cool. So is it confirmed that its just an overhaul of the main game+DLCs or will there be more areas to explore?
I hope they are able to sneak in some secret areas a la ash lake and undead asylum.

Let me guess, you're playing it on consoles. Am I right? If I am, then I can understand you're happy about it. I'd be too and wouldn't complain much, since it's a new release on a new generation of consoles. I'm on the PC part of the player community, though, and I don't approve of their actions towards this version - they basically force you to rebuy the whole game for a few minor graphical and gameplay updates (and for the fourth time - no, not everything is included in the free patch). That's why I complain. I've never liked that sort of stuff and I won't like it now.
