(For those with lack of better knowledge, its Conquest, War, Famine, Death from first to last)
erm i thought it was pestilence not conquest?

OT
without a demo i probly wont get it as ill be content waiting for god of war as the demo is supose to be 'amazing'
Oh my GOD don't tell him that he goes fucking mental! Which is a shame, becuase it's devastating to his claim.

OT - I'm on the first proper boss now, and so far, it's pretty good. There were a few bits that drove me to YouTube, but I've managed to figure out most of the puzzles myself.

If you needed help in this dungeon already you'll probably start pulling out your own hair in the last dungeon (or as I like to call it: Aperture Site 02... you'll see what I mean).

This game really surprised me. Aside from a slightly bland soundtrack, some fiddly controls in the later stages of the game and the fact that there's not much replay value in it, I can't find any criticism for it... Darksiders is a great start into the new year. :)

My mum went out and picked it up for me yesterday as I was stuck in the house. I'm about 3 hours in, and let me tell you, this game is really damn good. The combat is extremely fluid, as you have three weapon in your arsenal at any one time. At the moment, I have the sword, the scythe, and the shuriken blade thingy. It's not perfect, by any means, but the concepts it has taken on board are really damn interesting. I have two gripes with it so far, sometimes, when navigating the environment, the controls suffer from Assassin's Creed syndrome, sending you in the direction you don't want to go, usually resulting in you being DEAD. Also, the difficulty is something I take issue with. You really need to master enemy attack patterns, something you can be quick to forget when you're surrounded by 20 angels all pointing laser rifles at your head. Provided you can keep everything at bay, you shoudln't have too much trouble. Bosses can sometimes be a little annoying if you don't know how to fight them.

The visuals are, to put in a confusing manner, sub-par, but stunning. I mean, it isn't the most beautiful game I've played, but for the look it is going for, it really suits, everything is rendered well and the animations, on the most part, are very smooth. To me, it's a definite buy if you're a fan of games like Devil May Cry and God of War. The story itself is interesting too, but I haven't played enough yet to establish a final opinion. I'd recommend at least trying the game though, you never know, it might be the best gaming start you'll find to 2010. Oh, if anyone IS getting it soonish, allow me to tell you something:

DO NOT PLAY THE GAME ON EASY. It really isn't worth it, you only get a 10g achievement for completion of the game, as opposed to Normal and Apocalyptic, both of these difficulties rewarding you a hefty hundred.

OT: No but I'll probably rent it

It was just a statue that I hadn't noticed I had to push over to open a hole in the ground, and the "inert" bomb things that it never bothered explaining. Everything I else I've done on my own so far.

Including Tiamat. Damn she pissed me off...

Yeah, I would. Conquest and War are basically the same thing. Pestilence mixes it up a bit.

Yeah, I do remember one puzzle just before Tiamat where you had to use the inert bombs to create a chain reaction of explosions in order to gain entrance to a switch... that one took me a while. But seriously, once you get to the Portal stage some puzzles become very lengthy, confusing and tough... doesn't really get in the way of the fun, though.

And yes, Tiamat was a *****. You'll be glad to hear, then, that the next boss is a total pushover.

Ahh, I worked out the chain thing. I just didn't work out that the things near it were inert bombs...

By the next boss, do you mean Ulthane? I don't think I can count an enemy who takes one Chaos Form to beat as a proper boss :p

No, I mean the Griever.
Come to think of it, all the other bosses are easy as well, if you know how to beat them.

I like Ulthane, though, the guy brings just the right amount of lightness of tone into the game without feeling out of place.

eh... it looks like shit. yeah, i only had a look at the cover, but there doesnt seem to be much to it at all.

also, i hate big swords. call me judging it on looks, but massive weaponry just ruins the fun for me. and WAR or whatever has this gigantic stupid sword...
[small]and before the urge overcomes you totally: please, no dick jokes pertaining to what i've said...

Hey dumbass.

Firstly, I didn't get mad at the guy for saying Conquest was Pestilence. I got mad at him for ignoring that there are different versions of the bible.

Also, I was rather mad that night, and felt like yelling at some people over the internet to make me feel better.

There are different versions of the four horseman.

Now I am not trying to be mean, but really, learn more about a topic before you tell someone they are wrong.
