I remember getting a bad calculus test back once. I went down to my university's snack bar and got a beer at about 9AM. When the lady behind the counter raised an eyebrow, I told her it was 5:00 in Helsinki (or something like that).

Yeah, I have had those days. I usually come home to a gin and tonic when it is needed.

Ever had one of those days when you just really need a drink? I'm talking about alcohol.

I think my day when I needed a drink was today after my stupid chemistry test. Now I'm in college, so I'm not advocating underaged drinking, but man, I could have used a shot or six after today.

After what probably added to be be an actual span of 20 hours of studying of the last 3 days, I think I failed the test. I looked blankly at the paper before saying "fuck".

I felt as if all my hard work had been in vein and I felt as if I just needed a drink to help calm me down.

You guys ever had days like that?
Welcome to the world darling, this happens all the time and not just school. You will learn to handle it, that's what makes grown ups so cool.

And yes I have had a day which requires an alchoholic beverage, sometimes more then one.

Ever had a girlfriend/love interest and you told her something that you have a feeling is going to wreck a relationship for a year now in a slowly falling spiral?

yea?

Welcome to my week.

I'm actually a very straight edged person. I never drink or smoke or anything.
BUT!
There have been a few occasions when I simply HAD to have a drink.
After my mother died is a prime example.

As a graduate student finishing my Ph D. in chemistry, I feel your pain.

Nearly every day warrants a drink.

I have days like that occasionally. Had a couple in the last week or so, class and work are tearing me apart with the lack of free time. Unfortunately I can't drink, cause I need to get up early every damn day, and a hangover of any kind would suck.

Sometimes after a 12 hour shift at a dead end job you just need to kick back with a drink, nothing wrong with that at all.

I got to the bottom of a tequila bottle once, I looked into the glass and saw her, she looked back at me and started singing. OMG was I drunk, but it was love.

She had such a beautiful voice, those big green bloodshot eyes, it was more love.
I can't possibly stop drinking now, when I do she vanishes, I'm in love with my beer goggles wormy lady.
.
Tequila forever.

Why would you not advocate underage drinking? The european model has the right of it, not the ridiculous U.S model.
Have you seen the state of England because of our excessive drinking problem at a young age? It's legal at 18 (although many will get hold of it and openly drink it in the streets at 14) but anyone in the UK will tell you 90% of all 18 year-olds here are still kids that don't know what 'moderation' means.

No,the 21 age-restriction in the US is a good thing IMO.

I don't get this desire at all. I think it's because I didn't drink much when I was younger, and still don't really. I can go months between drinks.

After a bad day, I'd have a long gaming session or a chocolate icecream binge before I had a drink.

Grown ups doesn't really exist. Grown ups are just kids clad in disguise of self-deception and an acute sense of wanting to "fit in" with other grown ups.

Once you toss in some drugs and some alcohol, all grown ups start act like their real childlike selves which they usually try to put down when they're sober.

So for all you minors out there waiting for that mythical moment of passage into adulthood, don't get you're hopes up. You'll be the same people but just more concerned about embarassing yourselves infront of your fellow "grown ups". But that's it. : )
