I thi--

Yep, it's Aquaman.
He's not such an "iconic hero" as the others, but I guess it adds up due to the process of elimination.

It's not gonna be Superman because he's supposed to be an all-American hero. Like DC's Captain America. It would be a kick in the balls to America. I wouldn't really care but they're just not gonna do that to them. it would be too dumb.

It's not Batman because, again, it's a huge risk. Batman is trendy now and making him gay will push someone people away. No, I'm not being an ass. Again, I couldn't care less. But you know it would happen. Also, Catwoman.

Aquaman...can actually switch sides. It's TOO easy, but then again DC is still pretending he's a relevant hero. I don't see DC struggling to make everything add up to the fact that he's gay. Either that or the Flash. He IS quite flamboyant, even if that's his personality.

I know they said a male character was gonna come out of the closet, but I kinda wished it was Wonder Woman. She is clearly not straight and, hey, nothing wrong with that. But at least own up to it. You'll be waaaaay more popular that way.

EDIT: Martian Manhunter (hehe...) would be an easy cop-out. "Hey, I'm an alien, so it's fine, guys!". It would be too obvious of a publicity stunt. Not like it isn't one already...

okay i'm ruling out Batman and Superman right now, way too "iconic" for that to be the case.

Aquaman isn't ruled out just yet, but i hope to god it doesn't happen that way. people already laugh at him and being gay would amplify that. i'm not saying it would happen with any iconic hero, just with Aquaman, with most of the other heroes you could at least say "yeah, he's gay, but he also kicks ass" not with Aquaman though

i'm gonna say Flash, Green lantern, or maybe Martian Manhunter (though i wouldn't consider him "iconic")

but think about it, what does it matter? i've seen characters i like have their sexuality changed (for example, Kaiden from Mass Effect) and not given a shit, nobody should really.

unless of course, they fuck it up and make it this huge deal, that would be worth complaining about

Didn't Grant Morrison recently say he thinks Batman is probably gay? And if you look at him as a character it makes a lot of sense. Batman being gay really wouldn't bug me, sexuality is really not a big deal. People need to understand that pulling stuff like this doesn't help make sexuality less of a big deal, it makes it a bigger deal.

If it is Bats I just hope they don't make it into his sole character trait. Sexuality is incidental, leave it that way.
Although this would make for some very interesting Joker storylines in the future. Preying on Batman's sexual weakness always makes for Joker's most interesting moments.
Batman's not gay. He's a furry.

He's like 2 steps away from a fursuit.
That doesn't mean he doesn't like himself some sausage every now and again.

OT: Honestly, it'd be hilarious if Deadpool decided to crash the DC party and come out to mock them...
More than 50% of furries are bisexual, so it wouldn't be surprising.

Anyway, as much as I think Gay Deadpool would be hilarious, making him the gay one wouldn't be taken seriously.. because it's Deadpool. He's the complete opposite of serious.

Yeah, Deadpool and Squirrel girl give serious a fleeting peck on the cheek before going off an being awesome.

First Martian Man Hunter is a shape shifter is it even possible for him to be gay sense he's capable of both genders?

Second this seems more like a needless stunt then anything else, from what I know of the comic demographic most of them are pro gay, so none would have an issue with a gay hero they are gonna have an issue with changing a hero's personality though. If they really wanted to make a statement couldn't they at least pick something that would actually raise questions from there audience, like polygamy or a character deciding to get gender reassignment surgery.

And they better not try having the other heroes having to learn acceptance, all that should happen is everyone going "I don't care" except Batman how notifies him that he already knew because he's Batman.

This will go over about as well as Online DRM. They couldn't have come up with a new superhero? They had to change an existing one. Alienating part of those readers, so another group of readers can feel better about themselves. Great choice DC!
The only thing that changes is the sexuality. The only people that would feel alienated by a gay character, are homophobes. And... a homophobic fan of SUPER HERO COMICS? Really? Just... think about that one for a minute.
The only thing is the sexuality? So you obviously don't have any gay friends or if your gay, any straight friends. Because I do have gay friends both male and female, and they live a different lifestyle than I do, quite different. Oh and yes I have friends who are gay, I guess that makes me the biggest homophobe the planet has ever known!

What I have a problem with is one, people like you. Guessing that you know who I am and all. And two, people changing things to appeal to a "wider" audience. If they were going to be an audience, they would be already. There's absolutely no reason they couldn't have written up a new hero. Instead they decide to change up an existing one, with an existing fan base, whichever hero that may end up being. Its totally unnessisary for any reason.

IMO It's gonna be either The Flash, Aquaman or Wonder Woman. I actually hope it's going to to be Batman or Superman though, it would be awesome to see how the hardcore fanboys would react to that.

True, but considering he put Talia safety before the rest of the City, and was only stopped by Alfred, kinda tells me he is straight, but i suppose your right.
We can't run under the assumption that him putting the welfare of a woman ahead of everything else equals heterosexual love either. He's also put the well being of Robin first.
Yeah, but Robin is his adopted SON, so surely you can see why he would have a platonic emotional attachment.

First, I love how you rag on me for being presumptuous of you and your lifestyle, yet the FIRST THING YOU DO IS PRESUME HOW MY LIFE WORKS! For the record, I am a bi-sexual male, with a straight best friend, just so you know. Secondly, and this one might shock you, I'm not sure you can handle it, but, here goes... THE LIFESTYLE OF A FEW GAY PEOPLE IS NOT AN INDICATION OF THE LIFESTYLE OF EVERY GAY PERSON, YOU FUCKING TWAT! Gay people do not have a type of lifestyle you idiot. I would like to assume that you're an intelligent human being, but you're not making it easy. Thirdly, well... you know what you did? You used the "I'm not______, I have_____ friends" argument. I'm not even going to tell you how dumb that is, you should be able to figure that out by yourself. Finally, while I do think this is a stunt by DC comics, and an unnecessary one, I don't see any actual harm coming out of it. SEXUALITY! DOES! NOT! DETERMINE! PERSONALITY! YOU! DIPSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have something you want to say to me do it in private. Doing it like this in open forum is against the rules. And those friends I mentioned will be the first to admit they live that different lifestyle. So you obviously have some issues well beyond me and my comment.

The boy scout aka Superman will finally realize what we have all been thinking off him.

But I bet it will be batman, only makes since with robin being around.
Hasn't Batman Beyond taught you anything? Bruce is too busy trying to fuck crime to have a sexual orientation. This along with other factors leads him to drive everyone away and leave him as a miserable, lonely old man.

Why couldn't they have just created a new character? Changing the sexual orientation of a established character is stupid, and an obvious marketing stunt meant to cause controversy, and sell comics. Making a big deal about sexual orientation like this doesn't help the homosexual community, it just pisses people off.
