I was going to try it when I saw it on PSN yesterday. However, after 3 hours of downloading after installation--and only being at 15%--I decided I didn't want to try it that badly.
If you have a PS3, it's free-to-play on that, too.TitanAtlas said:I would, but my retard old laptop and his weak-ass graphic card, do not agree with such an idea...
nor me playing steam games... or playing minecraft for what matters...
I haven't played a pc game in years... YEARS!!! The last one was Guild Wars. When it came out... then my desktop computer broke, and i'm stuck with a lousy laptop...
Do you know what's it like to be a huge DC comics fan and not be able to play DC universe!? DO YOU!? It's torture man... torture!!!
You're a Tank (Ice) with Acrobatics (Dual Wield). It's not an optimal build. Superspeed works well though.Onyx Oblivion said:Just hope my Ice/DualWield/SuperSpeed build isn't trash come end-game.
Or a female body type that didn't have huge boobs?EverythingIncredible said:I'm not unreasonable, but the character creation is awful. They have a bazillion different variants of tights, but they didn't think to have armor? Or Robes? Or dresses? Or something OTHER than tights and spandex?
What about mental, dual wield, and super speed? I WANT MY SUPER SPEED AND MELEE.The_root_of_all_evil said:You're a Tank (Ice) with Acrobatics (Dual Wield). It's not an optimal build. A good combo is Ice/Staff/Superspeed. Both the pistols/dual-wield sets are based on dodging. Ice requires repeated Chill attacks to keep up your ice armour, so Freezing followed by Martial Flowers is a good all-round Aggro keeper/damage.Onyx Oblivion said:What about mental, dual wield, and super speed? I'm guessing nature would be a bad choice, too? Is staff a fast melee, btw? I just want to be a super speed fast-melee class with some type of elemental powers.The_root_of_all_evil said:A good combo is Ice/Staff/Superspeed. Mental is Support Class, so works better with handblaster or similar.
This is par for the course on F2P releases you should have seen the mess on SD gundam's close beta had yesterday.Kitsuna10060 said:yeah, to any one reading this, still having log in issues

I'm a have to disagree there, i remember DDO and EQ2 being smoother, i was there for CoH's F2P launch as well, >.> but i was subbed at the time so that might have something to do with it (CO can fuck right off imo)Normandyfoxtrot said:This is par for the course on F2P releases you should have seen the mess on SD gundam's close beta had yesterday.Kitsuna10060 said:yeah, to any one reading this, still having log in issues

I actually like it's F2P a lot. You can play all the content, for as long as you want, and still chat/have access to full customization. There's some missing features, but most seem like they can be overcome by spending $5 on the game, at which point you unlock "premium" mode permanently.Jandau said:It's free now? Huh, I might take a look. However, I hope it's actually F2P and not like DDO or LotRO where the F2P part is more like the trial version of most regular MMOs...
What stopped ME from playing was that it was a laggy ***** for no reason.Normandyfoxtrot said:I tried City of Heroes, but the graphics just got too muddy in many places for me to make out what was going on, that's always a turn off for me.The_root_of_all_evil said:Unfortunately, it's not.butternut said:I liked City of Heroes and Champions Online and this looks better than both of those.
It's better than CO, even if the costume bit is Way less.
And it feels awesome to begin with.
But you can level to 30 in a few days and then the grind like no-other kicks in.
Fun to play for a bit, not a long lasting game by any stretch.
And City of Heroes/Villains is now free: so why bother settling for the less of the two?
Do 1 of 2 things.Jak23 said:I agree, I've played it on PC and am currently downloading it on PS3.
I wish I could make a group as a f2p member because my friend always loses me whenever I use superspeed...
Not that it was poorly designed, but mainly that it was made with console in mind, and trying to sell a console gamer a MMO is like trying to sell a bobcat to Ocelot, IT JUST WON'T WORK!Pedro The Hutt said:Eh, I tried DCUO in beta. I threw up my hands during character creation when I saw how limited it was compared to CoX and CO.
Then I tried it again after cooling my heels, and gave up after the tutorial after noticing just how damn button mashy it was. Phantasy Star Online did the whole online action RPG thing better ten years prior.
Long story short: There is a reason why this game has gone F2P in less than a year from its launch.
