I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a strange item, but, it being male, or female, doesn't make a difference in this.

This is essentially my position.
Shouldn't one be shocked that it's a person hacked/chewed asunder rather than what kind of a person it was?

I'd probably garner that they chose a well endowed female at the end of the day to appeal to the bulk of their audience (and the fact that when you think of "island", visages of aesthetically appealing people in swimsuits/bikinis are immediate), but I don't really see the misogyny of it. I see a mutilated torso.

Why on earth? It's not like what I quoted was horribly out of context or cast you in a villainous light. We have the ability to selectively quote for a reason. Very rarely do I want to slog through an entire post and respond to every possible talking point. I don't even do that with emails from my friends.

Your response of "well I think there is an argument to be made for it" when I have also gone some way to trying to argue against it just irritated me very slightly because it came across that you hadn't bothered to read it and had merely snipped off that line.
I'm not sure since when a 4 line paragraph has come across as a 'slog', when the two points to comment on are "I don't think it could be argued as misogynistic" and "this is what I think it actually is" (more or less). Nor am I really sure why you'd start a discussion if actually attempting to discuss various points isn't what you want.

I think the statue is a clue. Notice how the boobs are totally unaffected by the zombie attack. Also given the woman's waste size its unlikely they are real. I think deep silver is trying to say the silicone implants are to zombies what garlic is to vampires. In other words, you will be playing the heroine Heidi Montag in the next game.

It's not like the bikini clad super models will be spared in a zombie apocalypse so it's just stupid, but I don't think much of Dead Island anyway so I don't care. Gore in general is never enough to sell me on a series so this adds and takes away nothing. I'm sure goreporn fans will love it though...

EDIT: And there is no way on earth they didn't see this coming, not after the hub bub last year over sexism in video games with Lara Croft and Hitman trailers controversy is exactly what they want with this. So again I'm more offended how blatant marketing it is then the statue itself.
