I... damnit.

I loved Dead Rising 2 - and while I've already mourned the apparent lack of sillyness in the third game here, then it never coming to PC... oh come on!

Not too fussed to be honest. It seems like its lost everything good about the series in an attempt to chase the COD crowd.

I have to agree, all I see is grey and seriousness so now its just another game. Best to just forget all about it.

Yup, grey and seriousness, that's all I see as well.

The bright and silly stuff sticks out like a sore thumb with that art-style. It looks like its been shopped on later.

COD crowd. Yeah....

I guess you guys must have missed the recent demos that came out. It's most definitely Dead Rising, true and true.
While certainly not as colorful and whimsical as fortune city, it still measures up to the color pallet of the first dead rising and Willamette mall. Honestly I like the juxtaposition better, Dead Rising 1 had a weird sort of disconnect with it's zany costumes and weapons all set in a fairly down to earth mall, and the unnerving psychopaths that cropped up. Fortune city dialed everything up to 11 and it was fun, but it didn't produce that same disconnect 1 had.

They could still screw it all up but it looks like they are sticking with the gimmick weapons and costumes from 1, as well as the combo weapons from 2, while adding custom vehicles as well (most of which are about as over the top as as anything else in dead rising.

I dunno, the seriess has always sort of given me the sense like your playing a cartoon character who accidentally got trapped in the real world during a gritty zombie apocalypse.

Eventually, someway, somewhere down the line I will play this. At first I was very taken aback at the way they were doing things, but eventually a certain trailer cropped up with machine-gun-teddy-bear and it was all well again. Sucks it's going to be a XB1 exclusive, but some way, in some time, I will have the power to play it.

That was my thoughts on it. Kinda gives the impression of wanting to be like recent Saint's Row games, which is absurd.

To be honest it would be like Saints Row 2 since it uses juxtaposition instead of what Dead Rising 2 and SRTT did where everything was silly.

The first Dead Rising also wasnt too colorfull to be honest and DR3 is closer to that.

Either way if anything was trying to appeal to the COD audience that would be Case West since it all takes place in an industrial complex and its filled mostly with guns. Just because this one has less color all of the sudden its COD for you guys, really? (in regards to the others commentaries)

Not really surprised, it's just about the only 180 title I've even the slightest interest in. They need all the system sellers they can muster.

I think its exclusivity will depend a lot on whether the One proves to be a success.

So if the console doesn't sell well, the game wont, therefore they'd be stupid to pass up opportunities to sell the game to more people on other platforms.

Plus the contract they have with Microsoft would likely prohibit them from discussing plans for other versions until after release.

Dangit! Now I have to cancel my pre-order for my ps4 and move it to the Xbone, O wait I really couldn't care less. DR1 was an ok game. DR2 I didnt find very fun, so I don't think I'll lose any sleep over this annoucement.

I am not sure why, but I have never bought a Dead Rising game. I liked the demo for the first game and enjoyed Dead Rising Case Zero on the XBLA, but have never really been tempted to buy one. They seemed fun, but the kind of game that would get boring quite quickly once the novelty of killing zombies in bizarre ways wears off.

Personally I cannot say that it being an Xbox One exclusive particularly bothers me, although you have to wonder why they thought it'd be such a good idea considering it's only launching in 13 countries. You'd think very few developers would want exclusives for a console with such a limited market.

Was kinda interested in this, considering DR1 is actually one of my favorite games (DR2 was ok, but disappointing)

I hate console exclusives. Just seems a dick move from whoever s doing it (And lets be honest, All of the console manufactures + the PC market does it)

You're, of course, aware that the Developer of the game stated explicitly at E3 this year that Dead Rising 3 was targeted at "Call of Duty players"?

...Capcom is pointedly trying to appeal to a wider audience in this latest iteration, saying it's going after the Call of Duty player. Gone is the cartoonish visual design, replaced by a more "realistic" interpretation of a viral apocalypse. That change is part of the maturation. By shifting the art style, the combat can be "more visceral" than in previous versions, with "real gore."...

Never played any of the Dead Rising games. Just really dislike zombie games. Blegh. So this personally affects me not one iota.

Sorry for those of you who this pisses off. Exclusives suck, but consoles gonna console. At least there's no shortage of zombie games?
