wish i could just embed the video, but it wont let me get the link.
anyways, i really dont think it deserved such high praise (such as claiming it to be the "best survival horror game of our generation). It doesnt look like survival horror at all, just gears of war with laser guns and zombie-babies.
besides that, im surprised it didnt get a lower score for having bad multiplayer, dont most mainstream reviewers put that as having a LOT of weight in their reviews? well, it looked like a left 4 dead rip-off anyways.
but thats just my opinion, what do you guys think of this?
EDIT: Yeah, i havent played the game yet, both because its not out and because when it does i wont play it because i didnt like the first (i like saving money for good games, thats all). ill give it a chance to surprise me, but ill let my brother buy it first since he's into corporate cash-ins (Cash-In of Duty anyone?). I mostly take issue with the "best survival horror game of our generation" line.
Dead space is hardly a corporate cash-in.
The plot is well thought out, the interactive cutscenes are fantastic, the whole coming full circle from the first game is done really well as well as a few revamps of your favourite enemies from the first game.
Fair enough if you don't like the series, but you can't just call Dead Space a corporate cash-in.
Call of Duty is, Dead Space is not.
Dead Space isn't just made for the money, the developers have an interesting story they want to tell with some interesting characters (the ones that survive anyway).
Dead Space for me was a current generation revamp of system shock II,but it managed to do it so well I didn't really notice.
The second one is so far removed from the first aside from the weapons being the same.
The game play is different enough to keep one hooked, and zero gravity is simply a joy in this one.
Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Also, dismembering each other online is immensely fun and the cooperative aspect of it is akin to those of L4D and killing floor.
I think the game deserves at least an eight and I don't know why people whinged about Isaac's "lacklustre voice actor. I think he suits the character very well and the narrative was just golden.
The bits inside his mind were well executed too and really depict a man on his last legs, completely losing it as his mind and sanity spirals into obscurity.
