Spartan vs Samurai. Spartan win. You could see it in the Samurai's eyes.. Fucking power weapons... lol
It certainly shows how uneven the testing is in the show. Why the heck did they mount his shield on a spring board when they saw it fit to merely mount the Viking shield (Which they got wrong, but I digress...) on an artificial arm?Silent Eagle said:Spartan vs Samurai. My girl and i discussed that eppy for hours (she's a hardcore ninja fan, i'm a samurai supporter...do the math)...She kept goin' on and on about how:AzrealMaximillion said:Spartans beating Ninjas was what put me off that show. The 300 fanboys won that one. Sorry but if a Ninja jumps out of a tree to attack you, your dead.
My bad, that was the wrong link. Here you are: http://www.spike.com/full-episode/deadliest-warrior/37916Primus1985 said:Watched it last night. Awesome episode Swat vs GSG-9, didnt find Spartan/Samurai...
Well I actually thought that the Samurai was going to take this one due to the fact that the spartan has no armor on his arms. One good slash from a katana or naginata would have been enough to take the battle home, which I assume happened when the samurai got his kills...Angelus SnV said:My girl got me into this (she's th'history buff)...we've watched it together since the first eppy...all i gotsta say is DAMN THE GORRAM SPARTANS!!! THEY KILLED OFF BOTH HER FAV WARRIORS (Ninja) AND MINE (Samurai...we get in debates about this all th'time) JUST BECAUSE OF THEIR GORRAM SHIELD!!! I mean C'MON! If your biggest claim to fame is your defensive weapon, HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU SO "AWESOME"?!?!?! I mean, you had a warrior class with the brainpower equivelant of a bunch of jockitch football players, and THESE guys are the "greatest warriors ever"?!?!?!?! PUH-LEASE!!!!BlackWaltz3 said:The season has started!

I wouldn't be so sure. The Hun and his crew were very crafty and while I doubt he get's to keep his horse in the simulation, he'll still be a threat.Stevanchez said:Alexander the Great.
1)Better weaponry
2)Better tactics
3)Better leader
4)Better warrior. Somehow, everyone seems to forget that Alexander was a badass warrior king that led his army into battle, wearing bright red armor, and daring people to attack him. Oh well.
The show doesn't really take the last three into consideration(and doesn't do a very good job at evaluating the 1st), but in REALITY Alexander would have beat the shit out of Attila in one-on-one combat or in a battle of army vs. army.
The composite bow is the only area where the Huns have the advantage and it's not a very good advantage when you consider that Alexander fought and dominated the Persians, who are revered as histories greatest archers(and the Persian army was A LOT bigger then the Huns').BlackWaltz3 said:I wouldn't be so sure. To be fair, I don't know much about the swords the Huns used, but I know that their composite bows could punch through armor without much trouble.
Hey now, I'm not saying that Atilla is going to win this, but I am rooting for him since I find him more interesting. Also I think his bow is going to be more effective against Alex than the other way around.Stevanchez said:The composite bow is the only area where the Huns have the advantage and it's not a very good advantage when you consider that Alexander fought and dominated the Persians, who are revered as histories greatest archers(and the Persian army was A LOT bigger then the Huns').BlackWaltz3 said:I wouldn't be so sure. The Macedonian shield, spear, long spear, sword, and armor beat out a bow any day and history has already shown that. Then when you add Alexander the Great's cunning and combat skills to his technological advantages, he wins hands down.
On a horse there is no comparison, the Macedonian calvary was the 2nd greatest military force(next to their phalanx) in the ancient world. In a battle, the Macedonian phalanx would run over the Huns like a bulldozer over a cat.
On the show Attila will probably win but like I said, the show leave out a lot of variables and doesn't really test the weapons all that well either, so it's not very reliable IMO. Although, I'm not entirely sure the objective of the show is to be reliable. I think its goal is to show a lot of blood and have idiot go, "OH DUUUUDE!" in the background. : )
