I was on the fence about this, but if they're going for an Arkham Asylum style of game (Devil May Cry I'd rather not have) then I cannot possibly give them my money fast enough.Baron von Blitztank said:From what I've heard, they're going for a Devil May Cry/Batman: Arkham Asylum style for gameplay. Still not necessarily a bad thing!shrekfan246 said:All they have to do is make it Devil May Cry/Metal Gear Rising-esque and it would work perfectly.Daystar Clarion said:Man, it's hard to not get hyped about a Deadpool game...
Let's just hope it doesn't blow gameplay wise.
At least Nolan North doesn't sound exactly like Nathan Drake again.
And if the entire game has the same amount of personality that trailer had, it'll probably be a huge blast to play.

Is the character actually like that? Sort of Joker meets Spiderman permanently straddling the fourth wall?
I think in one of the comics he Shorykuens some lady.
The symbolism is palpable!Desert Punk said:by the official site it seems they have decided to go with only those twoAnathrax said:Wait, there was an ERSB(Or whatever it's called) screenshot of the game on these forums, PC was listed in the platforms.TheKasp said:Oh god that ending! The saddest part about is:
"Platform: PS3/X360"
Yeah, gonna pass on that one.

That would be Kitty Pryde, Shadowcat of the X-Men, and he does it just to piss Wolverine off. It's his madness that makes him so adorable.

Plenty of people will disagree with you on that point, I'm afraid. You see, that's Nolan North, one of the most recognizable voices in video game voice acting and pretty much the voice of Deadpool. North voiced him in both the Marvel vs Capcom 3 games.Loonyyy said:Plus, that's entirely the wrong voice actor. Which is probably why I'm thinking more DNF than Deadpool. It was a terrible movie, but X-Men Origins: Wolverine has made me hear everything Deadpool says in Ryan Reynold's voice. It's not a bad thing. That voice is not playful, he is not talking to the audience, he is not self aware. He's grating.
Which is my first problem with him. When I think of Nolan North, I think of generic white guy #327. And I think mild and boring, and never a character. Tom Cruise is one of the most recognisable men in cinema. Choose him for Deadpool I would not, unless you could get some serious character out of him. You don't want the audience calling him by the actors name at the end.Z of the Na said:Plenty of people will disagree with you on that point, I'm afraid. Which I've never played and really don't care about. And one adaption (To be fair, in two parts) doesn't make you "The Voice" of anything. My problem is, if I'm listening to an internal monologue for the entire time, a conversation with the viewer, by a character who thinks the whole thing is a joke, because he knows he's in a comic, I think that Nolan North growling a little and laughing occassionally doesn't do it any favours. I always found the Spider-man comparison more appealing, and thought that the character's better voiced by someone who we can percieve as a joke. Instead of that, when I hear that voice, I hear him trying to talk himself up as a douchebag, and I think Duke Nukem. I don't think the guy in the Spiderman underwear. I don't think of what I think of as Deadpool. I don't think self-aware. I think a stereotype that isn't even aware he's a stereotype, thinking he's breaking sterotypes. Worse, I thought those gags all worked fairly well. My issue's with the delivery.and pretty much the voice of Deadpool. North voiced him in both the Marvel vs Capcom 3 games.
You did read the part where I said that, right? I mean, explaining that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a terrible movie to me, after I said exactly that, as a caveat, is irritating. I used the exact words "Terrible movie". Really, this is becoming a trend. Do people finish reading what they put in their quotes any more? This should get put somewhere in the CoC.Plus, I thought it was the widely considered notion that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a terrible movie
I don't know what you mean by "Baraka-pool" but yeah, Deadpool in that sucked. But the moments in one of the earlier scenes where he actually talked gave me the feeling of the (Admittedly small) amount of Deadpool I'd read. Annoying to other characters, enjoying action, arrogant, snarky and flamboyant. Sure, about half of his screen time is an abomination of Deadpool who can't even talk, let alone address the audience, who plays Terminator for 5 minutes before getting killed by what I think was the same trick that Creed used on Will.I.Am (When they put that man in a movie, he doesn't deserve a character name), but that brief glimpse previously was what I was thinking.and its representation of "Baraka-pool" was an outright farce.
Deadpool was voiced by North in the Wolverine Vs Hulk movie, thats more then likely why he got the part, he fits. Plus, you went into that much of a talk about it over a one sentence post? Someone seems really upset.Loonyyy said:Which is my first problem with him. When I think of Nolan North, I think of generic white guy #327. And I think mild and boring, and never a character. But hey, you can like that one, and I can not like him. I don't see why my dislike of the voice actor is a problem you can give reasonable criticism of, but feel free.
Holy freaking God man. You didn't need to type out a damn novel to get your point across. I get it, you disagree with me.Loonyyy said:*snip*
