I gave you the opportunity to explain, and you have returned to rhetoric. This makes me sad. Perhaps someone else will have the gumption.
Perhaps because I don't make it habit to go around yapping spoilers? I can tell you haven't played Awakening so I figured if I told you at least that it builds on the story of the darkspawn, you might be inclined to play it yourself.

If you're that damn sad then you could surely use one of these darkspawn happy pills anyways.
I played awakenings up until about 80% through. Changed computers, and didn't reinstall.
Well, whose fault is that now?

I agree, the darkspawn in Origins looked much better.
But still, Dragon Age II looks AMAZING.
The ones in DA2 look more like locust from Gears of War than the happy orc look-alikes in Origins. I am slightly disappointed...

Otherwise interesting world? Man, it's the same old Dwarves, Elves, "Orcs" shit all over again, it's hardly original.
Game still rocks though, but you're not really highlighting the strong point, which is the gameplay, through conversations and combat.
sure its the same old stuff but theres thourght put into it good enough that somone liek me who usually hates generic high fantasy can enjoy it

at the least the elves arnt arrogant pricks..some might be but they are now in poverty-ect its a nice change from the elves in LOTR

Who fault is what? What does that even mean in this context? If you are asking which game was I playing that didn't seem worth re-installing, I guess the answer is "Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening."

Since nothing else interesting is coming from you now that I have answered your question, I'll just stop here.

Well, my good threadmates, mourn that the incredible sharp wit of Hader is apparently looking for greener pastures. What shall we do without his unsupported comments?

I can totally imagine there being some hidden story of awesomeness for these guys that has been kept hidden, but no one seems to really want to cough it up. Just telling me to replay the expansion. I'm okay with it, message me and spoil the hell out of it, probably better I know that little bit of story when I play DA:2 anyway.

Seriously, what makes people so contradictory on forums, and then relent so quickly when asked for details?

It is a bit silly to have to pay for 'optional' dlc to understand what is going on in a sequel, but I don't think that will be much of a problem for DA II, they seem to be doing some pretty serious ground-up retcons for the series, so it'll probably be closer to starting over on a fresh slate.

Bioware dlc seems to be a pretty self-contained affair anyways, it never seems to have much of an impact on the main plot, combined with recons, it probably won't matter if you played the expansions or not.
