They also didn't account for Goku becoming stronger after each defeat. However I still say superman wins for a simply reason. Goku needs to breath.

As Frieza put it, some times a fight isn't won by the strongest

I would say Goku, if he had kryptonite. If he didn't it would end as soon as the first person passed out from being too tired.

But then frieza died :D

I think Neither of them would put the world in danger. plus there is the fact Goku has martial art training Superman doesn't so I can't see superman landing a punch considering they both have extreme speed.

This thread was already done, and not all that long ago.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.397449-Poll-Death-Battle-Goku-vs-Superman?page=1

But I think neither, I would go on, but it would just be repeating myself from the last thread... That said, nice to see video finally out and was fun to watch. That's what this is in the end, fun, don't forget this.

Guys, did you watch the video?

Most of the points mentioned as to why (or how) Goku would win are in there (and explained away).

Then again as a Superman fanboy, I always knew he would win ;)

Goku was a severed foot by the end of the fight. I don't think you can come back from that.

The big problem I see with the fight is that the earth was destroyed...which neither superman or Goku would have allowed to happen. Superman could not defeat Goku without destroying the earth, and Visa Verse...so it would have to end in a draw.

Also mental blocks do not explain superman being hurt (physically hurt) by so many MUCH weaker enemies in the past. His power levels...or at least his invulnerability...have ranged drastically. Also, why did other Kryptonians have such reduced power levels as well?

In the end I would say that a fight between superman and Goku ..on the earth would be a draw...although perhaps one way superman could win would be to knock Goku into space then keep attacking him so he can't concentrate to teleport back into an atmosphere. Since Goku seems to still need to breathe.....he would eventually sufficate and Superman could win without having to resort to any planet shattering attacks.

Also another thing that makes no sense is that superman is very quickly drained by green kryptonite and it takes along time for him to recharge after he is drained. In the battle they have after goku destroys the kryptonight, superman is full powered again in a few seconds.

Their calculations are also way off based on a few things (like so many planet destroying attacks by enemies like Vegita (the moon) and Freeza etc.

Anyway it was fun watching it......and the result is a possible one, just not the only possibility. It seems like they went very one sided on superman while I think Goku has some advantages over him..and the extreme powers superman has were in only a very small number of comics. For the most part he has come off as a much weaker being then Goku.

Goku would survive being thrown into the Sun, while Superman wouldn't. If Goku made the Sun go supernova he would win. Even if Superman could outrun the speed of light (which I think he can't), he would probably sacrifice himself to save Earth. Meanwhile, Goku only has to use the Dragon Balls to revive everyone.

If you are going to resort to that, Goku is the immortal guardian of the Dragon Balls and exists as an eternal entity that trascends our plane of existence. Nobody wins.

There was a clear winner in the video I love goku as much as anyone else but death battle did months of research and it come up superman won cant argue with the facts

My only issue with this is Goku's speed, he seems way too sluggish even at SSJ3, despite being able to keep up with Superman at SSJ.

Like in DBZ when he fights vegeta the first time, Vegetas power makes the planet shake. This was in like volume 18 out of 42. The entire planet should be destroyed just by their presence at the Cell tournament.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that has something to do with the characters control over their power as it grows and they learn to keep it under wraps. Like when Goku initially goes Super Saiyan and he's just tearing Namek apart, then later when he's mastered it he walks around fully transformed like it's normal, only letting his power spike when he fights.

There's a reason why people hate pitting Goku and Superman against each other, because they don't fit into each others universe. I'd also like to take this time to point out that a majority of the research for the Dragon Ball side is speculation, guesswork and straight up wrong in some points. None of this is to say that Superman Prime isn't a freaking god...

Yes but think about how powerful that foot would be! If that foot could some how gain sentience and the ability to move it's power would be three times more powerful than before and would kick supes ass :p

There is so much wrong with this post. Superman can't be killed by throwing him into the sun. In fact, throwing the guy who is powered by the sun into it is probably the worst idea possible as it's been repeatedly established that every time he's flown close to or even into the sun it supercharges his powers. He's also specifically survived supernovas before. He can also move at speeds faster than light, while matter expelled from a supernova apparently only travels at 10% of the speed of light. Though even if a supernova expanded faster than that, it's still going to be limited by the speed of light while Superman is not.

I'll end this. All-Star Superman is non-canon (literally, that's not an opinion, it's official company stance).

But to be more on topic; The calculations for Goku were terribly inaccurate. Superman recovered too quickly from the kryptonite. Their characterization was god awful and neither character would have fought the way they did (Goku always takes this shit away from cities, Superman would have also quickly moved their battle location once he noticed the damage that was being done). That being said, Superman would win regardless, Both can raise their "power" to levels so obscene that it would destroy planets, they wouldn't allow Earth or any other inhabitable planet to be destroyed during their fight and Goku has to breathe whereas Superman doesn't. Literally the only thing that ends up mattering in this "death match" is that Goku can't breathe in space.

All that aside, this is retarded, neither character fits into each others universes, mixing and matching this crap just doesn't work, the video was stupid and looked piss-poor (the voice acting made me want to pop my eardrums with an icepick), the idiotic prattling of the the fans from both sides (ESPECIALLY in the comment section of screw attack) is inane and insufferable.

People (unfortunately now I'm mixed up in this crap) are fighting over FAN-FICTION.

Also, I'm a an arrogant killjoy if you've yet to notice.

Oh yeah. Screwattack is still a website. I forgot about that.

Anyways, I always thought Death Battle was stupid. It essentially conveys the feeling that you get by arguing over stupid nerdy stuff without the feeling of actually discussing the topic.

Shame they seemed to take such efforts to make it balanced, logically calculated and well analysed, then turned around and used stuff stuff like goku's journey along snake way as his speed, or 16's bomb to measure his endurance. Despite not using the goku from either of those points in the story. They obviously did their reasearch, they know the show didn't work like that, why not use stats from the point where they took goku from.

I personally think superman would win in the end, cause he's made to be OP, but they really mucked it up horribly on the justification side of things. Also characterisation was off.

Finally, too much shoehorning of all the different elements. (powerpole? kaioken? appearing to fight just as evenly with kaioken as with super saiyan 3? we already know that a super saiyan 1 level can't even faze a super saiyan 2 level, how can supes be getting such an even contest with those lower forms :X )

in the end, not really any more satisfying or conclusive than one of the endless forum debates on the topic...
