SS4 is in GT and they used that.
That's because SSJ4 was a concept originally created by the creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, which is how Screwattack defines 'Official' as they said in their Q&A.
Super Saiyan 4 was created and designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. Toriyama was virtually hands-off when it came to GT, only really having involvement in the early stages and initial character designs.

Wrong on two things
Akira Toriyma did not create the concept of SS4, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru did, exclusively for GT.
Also, Akira Toriyma had oversite & was directly involved in GT. It's just as valid as the rest of the animated Dragon ball.
so again
If you accept SS4 as cannon you also have to accept the clip I posted.

So yea, Goku get's stronger and faster outside of transformations.

Oh, well apparently they were wrong then.

Still, GT has been completely written out of continuity by BoG so there's not use arguing about it, since it has no place in modern arguments anyway.

I think Neither of them would put the world in danger. plus there is the fact Goku has martial art training Superman doesn't so I can't see superman landing a punch considering they both have extreme speed.
Superman actually is a trained fighter. He spent time travelling the world before he came to Metropolis and learning how to use his powers and control himself. He might not know how to do fancy stuff, but he can handle himself really well, and has shown evidence of dabbling in at least judo and is a skilled boxer.

Plus, lest we forget, Superman was also trained by Batman. I'd say that alone makes him qualified of matching up with Goku's martial arts skills.

Personally, I felt like the Death Battle was pretty much as accurate as it could have possibly been, considering how undefined Goku's powers are. My only sticking point is that Goku's speed was probably alot higher than their calculations, but even then, Sups was probably still faster. And even IF Goku was faster, there isn't a single move in Goku's arsenal that Superman couldn't just tank and shrug off, except for MAYBE the Spirit Bomb (which wouldn't work on Superman anyways).

I don't get this X vs. Superman scenarios. The only thing that stops the guy is Kryptonite. Supposing there's no K around then my vote goes for the Man of Steel. I mean...

Superman is vulnerable to magic no? That means A LOT of people can kill Superman .

OT: Goku wins hands down .

That has nothing to do with the point that Goku dose grow stronger outside of transformations. Hell just re-watch Dragon ball, half the show is Goku loses gets training and wins. He gets stronger outside of transformations, by a noticeable amount.
