Hello Escapists, wanted to do a topic thread forever but I could never think of a good topic. So here goes. If any remotely famous person, and by famous I mean anybody remotely famous for anything like (actors, politicians, scientists, etc.) were to die tomorrow, who would you be sad to see go?

For me I would be devastated if Stephen Colbert died. Dude has kept me laughing for many years, and is an icon for fake news pundits everywhere.

So I ask Escapists, which celebrity would have to die tomorrow to bum you out?

Bobby McFerrin, probably. I've only been to one concert of his so far and as awesome as it was I wouldn't want it to become the last.

Stephen Fry, David Attenborough, any of the Top Gear trio.

I grew up watching these guys, it's going to suck when these guys go...

That right there... first name I thought of... *shakes fist* ... DAYSTAR!!

Anyway, others would include Sir Alex Ferguson, Bill Bailey, Sandi Toksvig and probably Nathan Fillion as well... :/

Man, reading their obituaries would probably leave me a wreck...

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, not just for their roles in shows such as QI and House but also their work together, including A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Jeeves and Wooster, Blackadder etc.

John Frusciante, surviving a heroin overdose aged 27 only to die still relatively young would piss me off.

Hmm, let's see:
Morgan Freeman I would feel somewhat bad about
Simon Templeman would probably send me into mourning. I don't think I'm exaggerating (much). As would Michael Bell but to a lesser extent. Both of them are voice actors from the Legacy of Kain series (Simon is doing Kain, wile Michael is the voice Raziel), but they are doing other video game VA work - Simon Templeman in particular you might know from Dragon Age: Origins (Loghain), Mass Effect 2 and 3 (Admiral Han'Gerrel from Tali's loyalty mission and Dr. Archer from the Project Overlord DLC) and Darksiders 2 (haven't played it - Google tells me he's the voice of Absalom / Avatar of Chaos, dunno who that is). I am still feeling sad for the loss of Tony Jay (Elder God in LoK, and also Megabyte from ReBoot), I find them close to my heart.

For me, it would mainly be John Cleese, one of the iconic Pythons, as well as Nathan Fillion or Joss Whedon. If either (or both, god forbid!) died, there would be no more hope for Firefly, there would be no more Castle if Fillion died, and likely no more good ensemble films or series if Joss died. He does those spectacularly.

And as for John Cleese... Well, he's one of the surviving Pythons, and really, hes a living legend in British Comedy, or at the very least should be. I would most definitely mourn his death.

Of course, honorable mentions go to Sean Connery, Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, and last but certainly not least, Tim Schafer.

I dont follow celebrity life so when one dies im all "meh".
However i would be kinda sad at a loss of a few great people i like. I think Joss Whedon is a genius and a loss of one is always sad. I also think Christian Bale is the best actor out there, and i though that before the batman franchise so no its not because of that. I love him from the tyimes of Equalibrium and Machinist

Tim Mcilrath and Justin Sane. The same goes for anyone else who are part of either band, but those are the ones that started each of their bands and the ones I consider essential.

I'd really really be sad if Michio Kaku died. That guy is a genius, and will probably bring us into the future, and it will be awesome.

I'll be sad when Kanye West dies. Say what you will about his personality but I truly believe that he is one of the better current musicians. He constantly pushes the envelope in his music and I'll miss his creativity when he's gone.

I will be sad when Christopher Nolan dies. He is the only director hasn't made a single film that I did not like.
