First option definitely. At least I'll get the chance of beating those bosses. Just thinking about beating Dessan from Jedi Knight 2 for example makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside because I get to use a lightsaber and force powers. Fuck yeah!

Option 1. Course, I'd be cursing my choice in console and video games every step, jump, and burn of the way, but hey - Video Game characters, bro. Worth it.

Oh hang on, what if I've beaten them more than once? Do I really have to go up against the Elite Four that many times...? I'd never get to heaven! (At least it got easier each time...)
Nope, you fight them just as you did the first time that you beat them... re-hashed games do count though... if you played all of the zeldas, have fun with the Gannon overload.

And that's the disadvantage of playing a lot of games and liking them, option 1 will be a complete ***** for me since I've played a shitload of games. That means I would be facing a crapload of bosses and will be dying a lot (The Demon's Souls bosses will be especially hard). Nonetheless, Option 1 it is, if a purple-haired 8 year old kid can survive dying and coming back to life several times (approximately a few thousand years), I'm sure I can do the same.

Cookie to whoever gets the reference.

Option 1, every time (though it's probably safe to assume there would be only one time). Eternity doing nothing? None of us can ever imagine how tedious and boring that would be, and eventually we'd go insane from it. I'll take being killed a million times over that any day.

My list of bosses would be mercifully short; I rarely play games like that. So, option 1. Seems like any sensible person would choose that.

I think everyone is ignoring the fact that we wouldn't get past the first boss because we don't get our armor and shit until we beat the first boss. So being nothingness might be better than dying again or having run and hide endlessly from said boss. Unless we were defeating a boss from Spyro or Portal...

Edit: Nevermind, read it wrong. Sign me up for Option 1

Can I have DeathCake? No? Then, I'll go for Option 1. Limbo is boring unless it's the kind you do with a stick.

Ohh that's ok, and - the Zelda thing - slightly sucks :p

By the way, if the "Cake or Death" thing is an Eddie Izzard reference, could I have the chicken...?

Bravo, I was wondering if anyone would get that.

Option 1. I'd rather be doing something, and knowing that I have unlimited tries in order to achieve the goal of eternal happiness (even if extreme, immeasurable pain were involved)than floating in a void with only the company of myself to keep me occupied forever.

Why is this thread called death or cake when there is no cake present?
10 points to anyone who can be bothered to add the appropriate reference to that sentence.

Only one I'd look forward to is Bioshock and Pokemon (OMG I'D LOVE POKEMON, NO PAIN EXCEPT FOR MY POKEMON)

Well, since I played God of War, I'll have to go with option two if I have to fight using my RL strength, agility and endurance. Even if I get into better shape with repeated battles and eventually reach the pinnacle of human physical conditioning, I'll never come close to matching the strength of a God. It'd be like a kitten trying to beat me in a fist fight: too small to have a chance of winning, but large enough that it would have trouble dodging for more than a few seconds. Actually, it would be like a DECLAWED kitten trying to beat me in a fist fight...

Option 1, for 3 reasons

1. Why chicken out with choice 2 into limbo? Chances are I'll get stabbed by a giant spider.

2. Getting a cake is fine, but earning it makes it oh so sweeter.

3. Feeling like your the king of the everything. Yes, you did just save the universe, you did save the princess, you defeated the 7 evil exes, you survived the apocalypse, and yes, you did just save all life as we know it! Now walk down that hall and kill the god of war!

Though I do regret playing super meat boy though, how in the world can I be that jump that far and precise? Though the Dead rising stage will make up for it.

Go paddle-saw!
