Does the Disgaea series count? Cos I've got almost all of those (missing a few handhelds). Resonance of Fate has been mentioned, Lost Odyssey, EDF 2017, 2/3 of the Project Rainfall titles: Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story (do they count as obscure if they have a movement named after them?).

I have both the One Piece Unlimited Cruise games on the Wii and those were a blast to play. Really went under the radar and was only released in Europe and Japan so I had to import mine and break the region lock on it.
I got one of those they were a lot of fun. They could have used a little bit of extra polish but they were a ton of fun and deserved to be better advertised.
Indeed. Still confused as to why they were never released in the States, because if they had been then I wouldn't have needed to import them. Finding European copies of those games though I find very difficult for some odd reason. I have both the Japanese versions of the games and plan to LP them later.
Weird thing is that they got no advertising like how the Pirate Warrior games get no advertising as well. I mean you have to search the PSN store for the digital copy and no retailer carries the American copy of the game for some strange reason.
So I guess that's another game: One Piece Pirate Warriors.

Would the Strong Bad Wii games count? If so that's about it, a really fun group of games if you like Homestar cartoons, I think they were sucessful on the Wii, but they still seem pretty obscure to me. I'm pretty mainstream when it comes to my games, particularly modern ones.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. No-one bought that. I thought it was brilliant, though.
I did. i thought it was crap :/
I can see why people might not like it. I just think it was very under-appreciated, considering the gorgeous art style and intriguing subject matter. The gameplay was a bit iffy though.

It's been mentioned a few times, but Resonance of Fate is probably the most obscure one I own. While they definitely had their moment in the sun when they released, I will have to admit that Valkyria Chronicles and Eternal Sonata seem to have been forgotten by time.

The former definitely gained a pretty good following until Sega shrunk its fanbase by putting the next two titles on the PSP rather than continuing to put them on the PS3, as well as not localizing the third one. So while its combat system at the time is definitely unique, combining elements of a top-down SRPG with 3rd-person shooting, it hasn't seemed to have left that much of a mark after a year or two of the first game's release.

The latter was released on 360 then ported to the PS3, but not before being given a rather significant overhaul, and I'm not simply talking about adding two characters. They fundamentally altered the way the story was presented, as well as outright deleting, adding, and editing certain cutscenes and critical dialogue in order to make the story more coherent and cohesive. However, it was pretty heavy-handed, and while it was cool to talk about the ending of the game and everything it entailed, it too faded away rather quickly.

Juiced 2. Never heard anyone talk about it ever IRL. Pretty decent game as well.
I had it as well. It was only alright, I thought. But it is definitely a forgotten title from this generation of consoles.

Import Tuner Challenge springs to mind as well. I don't know anyone else who owns it, but it has a surprisingly in-depth customization system for cars. Plus, completionists would love the 300 or so rivals, some of whom won't race you unless you're driving a specific car (e.g. a Subaru Impreza).
Loved Import Tuner Challenge. It was this gen's version of a PS2 heavyweight called something like Tokyo Extreme Racer, if my memory serves me correctly. If the multiplayer would have been a bit better balanced, it would have been a fantastic game. Sadly, you could tune an R34 in a way that made it, for all intents and purposes, better than a modern F1 car, which really kinda broke the game.

I have Star Wars Republic Commando...nobody seems to remember it though.
Wouldn't count that obscure considering that it was one of the games in the starwars bundle steam were selling for May the 4th

Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure

Its a platforming/puzzle hybrid and one of the best DS games I played easily on my top 20

on the same note why haven't enough people played Radiant Historia... one of the best time travel RPGs I've ever played rivaling Chrono trigger

Spare Parts is a downloadable co-op 3D beat 'em up/platformer for PSN and XBLA.
It was a neat little game, and one of very few platformers this generation. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but if you've got some extra money laying around, you can get a good amount of fun out of it alone or with a friend.

I've got a copy of that; haven't finsihed it though. Absolutely beautiful game.

The platforming is a bit loose, though. And the combat is... well. There's really only one button to attack. So while the game has a lot of potential, it leaves a lot to be desired.

I had Minecraft when it was still niche! I was playing the very first month it existed!

I have a bunch of random stuff.
Rise of the Argonauts - cheap Mass Effect knockoff with oversized Greeks
Maelstrom - horrid RTS I got for free
Silverfall - corny ARPG.
Risen - a really quite great open-world RPG that no one really remembers.

Time for my obligatory Little King's Story mention. People are waiting for Pikmin 3 when I perfectly good successor has been out for years.

Also adding Earth Defense Force 2017, Tenchu Z, Excite Truck, Battlestations Midway and Vanquish.

It doesn't count because I no longer have it, and it's not THAT modern, it came out on the Gamecube... but anyone remember Vexx? that, somewhat dark, "collect-a-thon" type of game. It's pretty much the first thing that came to mind when i read the thread title.

actual recent... can't think of anything, I guess according to my friends I own random obscure games, but on the internet, they aren't THAT obscure, I think (i.e. Catherine)

Folklore
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom
Warriors: Legends of Troy
Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron

Those are probably the highlights as far as games I really enjoyed that were never much talked about.
