I've count of the number of times I've asked myself, "wait, isn't Dark Souls II already out?" I've been asking myself that for roughly 6 months now. Me not knowing about the games release should be pretty telling though: I haven't played Demon's Souls or, Dark Souls and I don't really have much interest in the series. I might grab the older games considering they're cheaper now but they're low on my list. It's not that it looks bad it's just not something I care for personally.

What with all the talk about making it more accessible, I'll wait until I hear the verdict from other people who liked the first game before I go and buy it.

Yes, it's pretty much a day one purchase for me, and if the PC version will be given as much care as the devs said it would that will be the version I buy. too bad it won't be out till march of next year.

Let's just hope the "throw a bunch of money at marketing" won't sink this series due to unachievable sales targets.

Not sure right now. I want to see how it goes over before I actually get into it. Not to mention, I still need to actually play Dark Souls. I'm sure I'll eventually get around to it if the reception is good, but not before beating its predecessor, which I plan to get into soon.

Of course. No question day one purchase for me. I loved the first 2 games and they are easily my favourite new games this gen.

Honestly? Probably not.

I liked Dark Souls quite a bit, but I feel like one of the strongest arguments in its favor was how unique it was, and I'm not terribly interested in a game that...to be frank...looks like MOTS. I'd rather they'd have experimented more with using game play elements to create moods beyond "dread and sadness", and pushed the genre in some interesting new directions, I'd also have liked to see some of the money from Dark Souls go into a significant engine upgrade. Alas, if wishes were horses...

I mean, I guess it's always possible I'll pick it up one day on sale or something, especially if it turns out to be an all around good game, it just...feels a bit milky. A bit cowardly. I don't really see the point in copy pasting your cult game. Seems to defeat the spirit of the whole thing.

Hell yeah.
There's a lot of stuff I'm disliking from the previews, but it's also a Souls game so... yeah.
That being said I have stopped watching basically anything to do with it for fear of spoilers since the pre-E3 presentation, so that's something.

Hells to the yes, no question, I'll be getting it day one.

Love the Soul series, nothing else offers me the same feeling I get from playing them.

Absolutely, I'm a HUGE fan of the series and from all the footage I've seen the new director seems to have his shit together and is simply improving and streamlining stuff instead of making radical changes like we were worried he might.

Very much looking forward to it and as a PvPer, very much looking forward to dedicated servers.

On another note: Nice choice in video OP, Vaati is one of my favourite content creators.

I probably will, but not at release. I'm guessing it's going to suffer from a lot of sequalitis - bigger and more bombastic, but losing much of its charm in the process. I've heard rumors about it been much more liniar as well, I'm guessing that will mean big open levels rather than a single world you can move through willy-nilly. That could be great or it could be ruin it. I'll wait and see I guess.

I'm going to wait and see before I make up my mind. If the equipment setup is based on demons souls or dark souls will probably be the deciding factor. In dark souls elemental weapons and heavy armor with the gank squads ruined multiplayer for me. Now that they are nerfing backstabs it just seems like it will be more gank friendly.

Luckily souls games get new wikis up and info posted quickly and there's definitely going to be a few lets plays to go by.

Dark Souls is probably my favorite RPG this gen next to DAO, HOWEVER, if any of it gets dumbed down instead of streamlined a bit, I'm out and pissed off.

Actually think I have a thread about it on the front page currently...

Possibly. It depends on how the PC port is this time around. I didn't get to play the first game since the port was apparently so bad, and I refuse to use an Xbox controller as I find console controllers uncomfortable. So, if the PC port has all the right effort put into it, and can run well with keyboard and mouse support, then I shall certainly look into getting it and playing it myself.

Absolutely, it is a day one purchase for me and the main reason I'm waiting before I get either of the new consoles, I'm a massive Souls fan, Elder Scrolls was my favourite RPG series for years but Souls just has a magic to it that keeps me coming back.

I am a big fan of Lucerne and the Man Serpent Greatsword
But I am of the opinion that each weapon in Dark Souls can be effective in the right hands, aside from whips haha, they sadly suck.

If the PC port is decent, I'll definitely be getting it. However, I'm alright with using a controller. It just seems the best way to play 3rd person games that don't require precision aiming.

I'd rather not say that it will be an absolute day one buy, because I'd like to think myself above petty fanboyism. That said, if I don't hear anything negative before day one, then I'll be ordering my copy immediately.
